Q: Can water be heated in this on an electric (or gas) hob? I am concerned that water will lose temperature when poured into this from a kettle

Hi there, it is designed to be used with a kettle as a compact solution and should not be placed on the hob directly. In terms of heat loss we would also always suggest putting some freshly boiled water into the jug to heat it up first, much as you would when making a press coffee. You can then empty this out and place fresh hot water if you want to be up to around 93 degrees. We tend to brew at a lower temperature than this.
