Aesop's Fables (Puffin Classics)

I originally saw these books in Barnes and Noble and my six year old loved them. I used the Amazon app and ordered it right there. The book is decently made for a paperback. Print is crisp and clear. The pages feel nice as you turn them. It has became a nightstand staple and is used nightly. We are working our way through the rest of the books in the Puffin Classics series.

These Fables are nothing like what I would have expected! These are S H O R T versions of what I knew to be Aesop'd Fables and leave a LOT to be desired. Very sorry I sent these to my Grand Daughters and bought the kindle copy for myself so I could read them to my Grand Daughters over the phone. Was I sadly made aware of how lacking they are and how dumb I feel for trying to share something special with family like I had when a child.

Great for beginning or advanced readers, the classic story with a subtle meaning brightens any mind!

This was a gift for my 10y.o. son. He read this book and loved it.

I was buying this for younger children. Thought the book less than imaginative. Perhaps Aesop wasn't as clever as I thought and I have only read rewrites. I returned the copies I had ordered.

I'm an elementary school theatre teacher and I'm buying this book for work. The stories are short, to the point, suitable for reading prior to responsive discussion, writing and creative dramatic activities.

A handy collection from that bloke Aesop. A large number of stories seek to impart a moral lesson, while using a fantastic setting to disguise the impact, and enable them to be used on unsuspecting short humans, even. A little on the sneaky side, that Aesop character. Lucky he never met Basil Brush or Bart Simpson.

Lots of fables I had never read before. Bought it to read with my grandchildren, lots of 1 page fables, so suitable for them.
