Good 2.5 GB PCIe card with good performance and a decent price
I wanted to add a 2.5 gb ethernet card to my Dell desktop pc and this one fit the bill. The card was immediately recognized by Windows 11 and performs well. It seems like PCI cards are becoming a more specialized thing, given the majority of PC's being laptops these days and the ubiquity of laptops and faster USB ports. But if you need a PCIe network card, this will likely fit the bill. The price is reasonable, too.

It just works on my Windows 11 PC
I purchased this 2.5Gb network card to create a dedicated high-speed connection to my NAS, which also supports 2.5Gb networking. My goal was to separate storage traffic from the rest of my network activity and improve file transfer performance, and this card accomplished exactly that. Installation was about as simple as it gets. I installed the card, booted the system, and Windows 11 recognized it immediately without requiring any special drivers or software downloads. Within a few minutes I had the cable connected, configured the network settings, and redirected my mapped network drives to the new connection. Performance has been exactly what I was hoping for. File copy tests show transfer speeds roughly 2.5 times faster than the previous 1Gb connection I was using, which is consistent with the upgrade from Gigabit to 2.5 Gigabit networking. Large file transfers complete noticeably faster, and moving NAS traffic onto its own dedicated network path has improved the responsiveness of my home media server setup. The card has been stable in operation with no connection drops or compatibility issues so far, and the automatic Windows 11 driver support made the upgrade especially painless. Overall, this is an excellent option for anyone with a NAS, home server, or other 2.5Gb-capable device looking for a straightforward networking upgrade. It installed easily, worked immediately, and delivered the performance improvement I was expecting.

Solid product!
Picked up three of these and they work perfectly. No drivers needed for Windows 10 and rock-solid speed.

Inexpensive - reliable- stable and fast!
The Trendnet 2.5GB NIC was super fast to install and get running. I installed the driver first, shut down the computer, popped the lid, installed the NIC, buttoned it up and did a restart. I didn't even shut the old 1 Gig NIC off in the bios setup. I just plugged the Cat 6 in and the OS (Win 11) took care of the rest. Worked great without any complications.

Great way to upgrade a motherboard that maxes out at 1Gbps
I upgraded my fiber internet service from 1Gbps to 2Gbps, but my motherboard's built in ethernet maxed out at 1Gbps. This product was the perfect solution to use a spare PCIe slot and upgrade my connection. One tip, I was having issues when the computer was idle. Seems the PCIe slot was being put in a low power state and when I'd come back to use the PC, I couldn't connect to the internet. So, I looked into the following power saving settings in the card's properties, changed them and it resolved the issue: I set each of these to a disabled state: Energy-Efficient Ethernet, Green Ethernet, & Power Saving Mode. Now my internet is rock solid and stable. This was a great upgrade!

Solid performance
I upgraded my file server PC with this card (my workstation already has 2.5GbE on the motherboard). It’s a very unobtrusive card and it fits well on the micro-ATX motherboard without interfering with the adjacent video card fan. I enabled 9k jumbo frames on both PCs and got >2500Mbps in both directions in OpenSpeedTest. (Note your switch needs to support these too; check its specs first.) Also, it didn’t perform well on the Windows built-in driver, but the Trendnet provided one did the trick.

Easy plug and play with Linux
I am fantastically pleased with this purchase. With LMDE 6 (Linux Mint Debian Edition) on both sides, it is literally plug and play - and no farting around with compiling drivers and having to set ' ethtool ' values manually. According to ' lspci -k ' it simply uses the r8169 kernel driver. Using a 2.5Gbit switch in the middle (ienRon 6 Port 2.5G Unmanaged Ethernet Switch, 4 x 2.5 Gigabit Base-T Ports, 2 x 10 Gigabit SFP) -- also available here on amazon -- I'm getting ~181MB/sec out of the box (default MTU 1500) from Ramdisk /dev/shm to Ramdisk with a 5.8GB Bluray file. As 2.5Gbit is pretty much the last gasp of CAT5 cabling, this is outstanding value if like me, you want it to Just Work - and be faster than stock Gigabit Ethernet. Primarily I use Linux and Mac; I was getting much worse results with multiple 2.5Gbit USB3 adapters and was about to give up on 2.5Gbit when I decided to try PCIe x1 cards. Would definitely buy this card again!

Works in Unraid, Linux, and Win10 (with caveats)
Great inexpensive cards. I'd like to echo what another review said and download the latest windows drivers from the Realtek website, do not use the drivers loaded by windows 10 nor the drivers on the Trendnet website. This resolved 1 of 2 of my windows issues. The second issue, though not related to this card, but maybe it will help others, is that I had to remove software was called cFosSpeed that was automatically installed by MSi. Once I did both of these things I hit my Gb speed up and down on my fiber connection. Lastly, I have these cards in 3 separate operating systems including Win10, Ubuntu, and Unraid. Ubuntu and Unraid accepted them without issue and correctly installed the right drivers, the little fiddling required with Win10 resolved those issues. I'll buy these again if needed!

Simple. Works.
Simple install. Tall and short back plate. Pretty much plug and play in my Linux system. Make SURE you use the proper cable to get full speed.
