GBC Paper Shredder, SmarTech Enabled, Auto Feed, 300 Sheet Capacity, Super Cross-Cut, 5-10 Users, Stack-and-Shred 300X (1757576S)

We love the feature where you can put a stack in and close the lid and just walk away. The one thing we did learn that if the machine stops shredding check to see if the bin is full....we emptied it and it took right off again. I even have a Supervisor who is not good with most equipment whether it is a fax machine, copier, etc......even she said I LOVE THAT SHREDDER. The security feature is good too....we have confidential documents we shred at times. You just put your documents in close the lid and punch your 4 digit personal code and it locks until the job is completed then it unlocks and is ready for the next person. We got a great price through Amazon compared to other vendors. With our prior shredder it lasted a long time but it was consistently getting jammed and you could only feed 2 to 3 sheets at a time & had to oil it all the time and if you over oiled it would cause it to jam also. With this machine you put your oil in and it releases it as needed & you can put up to 500 sheets in area under the lid or if you just have a couple sheets you can feed them through the top slot....Overall a GREAT machine. The only thing that I might not agree with is that bin holds 21 gallons of shredded paper.....I think it is less than that but its no problem for us we just change out the bag go on....no big deal. I would buy it again knowing that.

It works really well. Solid. This machine is everything I expected in terms of shed capacity. I think the only drawback is that there is no durable waste bin. Swingline expects you to use a paper bag liner, (5 bags for $29) or what I use, the 30 gallon plastic shredder bags, (100 bags for $58) inside of a flimsy metal wire skeleton bin. Other than that, even though it's expensive, this machine is well worth the price. It's quiet, oil's itself, (small amount of oil included) and will shred staples, and small paperclips like a madman. We've been using this machine non-stop since we got it.

This has been a great shredder for our business so far. It is so convenient to leave a big stack of documents in the auto-feed and just walk away! With smaller shredders you always have a "cool-down" time you have to wait after shredding a lot of papers, but not with this one. It shreds non-stop until the basket is full. Digital display shows errors, oil refill needs, etc.

Machine works well. Impossible to empty shredding without creating a mess. They should have designed a better collection system. After just one month the machine overheats with 50 papers and shuts down. Takes 45 minutes before it re-starts again. Very messy to operate.

We bought this shredder for our attorney's office of 17 people. For the money, we have not been happy with it. It was easy enough to set up and it included a little bottle of starter oil. However, only a few days after having it, we already have had to add more oil to the machine, which was a separate purchase. When shredding, it is pretty quiet and gives out a steady hum. We have not had a problem so far with shredding. The biggest disappointment was the shredded paper container inside. There is not a permanent box. They gave a disposable paper bag and expect you to buy replacement bags to fit the wire rack inside. The container fills completely up with 1 1/2 cycles of shredding and we can easily go through two bins per day. At $22 for 5 bags this is a rip off! We are currently using plastic trash bags from our maintenance department, but these easily rip and are hard to dump resulting in a big mess all over the floor. Now we are looking for a sturdy plastic container or cardboard box with the correct dimensions to fit in the machine. For how expensive this machine was, they should make a permanent box for this inside. We would not buy this product again given the option.

This unit overheats constantly, does not grab the paper properly and is always jamming. Good concept but not what I was expecting. It says 300 pages in the loader.... no! Not even 100. and if they are not separated then it just jams. A shredder described like this one should be able to take at least 3 sheets stapled together but not this one.

Admittedly, I'm a tough customer and I don't give these 5-stars lightly. I spent hours researching shredders for our small 5-person office to share. I looked up videos and reviews on every shredder I could find. THIS is the one. It was twice my budget, but worth more than 2 cheap shredders. I'm now the talk of the office with my shredder hunting prowess.*Extremely quiet. Can have a phone conversation right next to the thing.*No Jams. Some reviews mentioned jams, but I just can't make one happen no matter how hard I try.*Right size. It sits on the floor just fine. Has wheels to move it around or clean behind it.*STACK FEED. To be fair the stack needs to be full sized sheets, fairly uniform. But, I've thrown some haphazard in there and it ate it up just fine.*Top feed OR stack feed option.*Stack feeder locks. You open the top, put in your stack, close it and it starts shredding the stack a few at a time. At any time you can press any 4 numbers on the front to lock the feeder tray. Press the same 4 digit sequence to unlock it, or it unlocks itself when the stack is gone. Perfect for set it and forget it.*You can use a trash bag in it for easy empty. Optional.What could be better?- The price, but I still think it's a fair value for the money.- If it had an automatic trash compactor built in or even better a vacuum tube to the recycle dumpster.

This thing is incomparable. we are currently shredding over 40 000 files and it performs flawlessly:no cool down needed, can shred continuously.very quiet !can insert 300 sheets and walk away, can even be locked with a code if they are sensitive.shredded paper capacity is ok, wouldn't mind a bigger one, but they cost ++ more money!Would highly recommend.
