It will make the food all soggy and water will creep into the food chamber. You can mix all different kinds of food into this. I put freeze dried bloodworms, flake food, pellet food, granule food. Add everything you want to the food chamber then screw it back together, and then shake the food up in the chamber well. This will mix the food up so that theres an even variety of food with every dispense. The fish love it, perfect for fry as long as you use only flake food. For bigger fish this will grind the food up a little too small for them but they will still eat it. For bigger fish just drop flakes or pellets in the tank, the food will be better size for them and they won't have to scramble to find all the little pieces of flake food and pellets.
