SOS Help for Parents video kit is effective and easy to use. It is laid out in an easy to follow sequential format. It has dated, but interesting, video clips. It goes along with the book SOS Help for Parents, although, you don't have to have the book to learn from the video version. It can be done in 6 easy sessions. It is designed as a discussion class. I have taken the class as a parent, as well as, using it as a teaching aid.

SOS Help for Parents is a classic in my eyes. We have used this program in two different mental health agencies I have worked for. This program has has garnered the most positive outcomes with parenting that any other program we have ever used. The author offers support in the implementation of the program and the worksheets, videos and books are easy to understand for our parents. The video's although dated are noted to be one of the most memorable parts of the program as seeing the techniques in practice helps our parents to understand more clearly how to handle situations.

This is an excellent program that I have been using for years as a teaching tool for parents and for my own use in raising my daughter. The concepts are easy to understand and make sense to people. The video program gives excellent examples. The information is presented in a way that does not cause one to become defensive. I highly recommend this to any parent, educator, or counselor. The program can be adapted for use individually or with groups. The SOS website also provides free additional resources.
