Fantastic product for quickly finding low voltage shorts on furnaces

Found a short on the 24 volt conditioned air system, super fast. I can remove wiring one by one from the control board(s) one by one and find the short so easy by testing the circuit for voltage. I don’t have to keep replacing fuses or resetting a trip type fuse. I’m a master plumber and this was soooo simple. I’m tired of paying a/c companies 500 to 800 dollars to replace a part that costs under 50 bucks. The part that failed was a defrost thermostat. I didn’t even know what this was, when I looked at it. Looked up the model number on it and ordered replacement OEM part from Amazon for 30 bucks. Highly recommended

This thing right off, helped me find a short in an HVAC circuit that was erratic ...A contactor that wouldn't show short until the unit was running 20 minutes or so, then blew the 24 volt line fuse..I mean a head scratcher...Mutimeter didn't pick it up...Problem didn't show, until it got hot...Short finder pointed it out, then the meter showed the contactor to be the villain, only after it got hot...I was a hero to the customer on that one and it felt good winning a tough one...This is a great tool.

Had an hvac short that my local company couldn't repair in 3 trips out. This allowed me to find the short without damaging the unit or going through a bunch of fuses.

Worked perfect, I had a Tech replace a blower control board and was blowing fuses. Two minutes later the problem was solved, he had a crossed wire. If you are an A/C Tech or Maintenance Tech I think you really need this tool. just clamp it on the fuse area with the power on and when the light goes OFF the short is fixed.
