The fan is super high quality. Very heavy, well made materials. Installation was a bit of a pain though. First, the hanger hook that you use to hang the fan on when wiring everything up is poorly placed and hard to get the fan hoooked onto when on the top of a tall ladder. It's also in an odd spot. Whereas most cheap fans have the hanger on the edge of the ceiling mount bracket, this one is more centered. This means you have to completely remove the fan from the hanger in order to get it onto the mounting screws. The other issue is that the remote received is HUGE and somehow needs to fit into the top of the unit along with all of the wiring. The hanger hook can get in the way on this. There are also two little clips that are meant to hold the remote receiver, but it is nearly impossible to get the received to sit into this bracket with all of the wiring in the way. The trick I found was to just simply remove this bracket (take out the two screws) so that the clips wouldn't be in the way, and just let the received sit loosely inside of the top canopy. This ended up being much easier. Overall, it's a really nice looking fan. The fan is more of a matte black with lighter specs ---- NOT a shiny finish like most of the pictures show. It's definitely high quality, and completely silent. The Edison-style bulbs are a nice touch, and they provide ample light for the room. The remote works very well. Keep in mind that there are no pull cords for this fan --- so, you must use the remote. Overall, I am happy with the purchase so far. Time will tell if the fan holds up to daily use. 4 stars because of the annoying installation, otherwise it would be a solid 5.
