When my daughter turned 1, I picked up one of these dolls at the local card shop. A friend of mine growing up had these dolls, and being envious of them, I wanted to share the tradition with my own daughter. Little did I know after a few years, the card shop stopped carrying them and I didn't have the whole set. So I finally found them here on Amazon and am accruing the rest of the set to save an put away and then give my daughter each year on her birthday. She is excited to receive her birthday doll each year. The style and face is old-fashioned, but we like that sort of thing in our home. In today's world full of plastic, it is nice to give a delicate, feminine keepsake gift.

I started a set of these when my last granddaughter was born. She looks forward to one every year. They come in brunette or blond. Used to be sold at Hallmark stores but now have to order online.

My husband & I have been giving these "growing up girls" since our granddaughters birth. Seriously, the very 1st in the series starts at birth with a baby girl in an baby basket. I am so glad that we were able to find the 11th birthday girl. For whatever reason they are becoming hard to find. If you have a granddaughter or daughter for that matter, I encourage you to start a tradition by giving them on each birthday.The figurine arrived on time & very well packaged.

Everything was just as it stated and arrived earlier than expected. I accidentally ordered 2 so I requested to return one. I’ll let you know how that goes. My granddaughter’s love them and would have a meltdown if they didn’t receive one each year. 😁

I had to order this figurine twice because the first one had a chip in the cheek. I also had problems getting the brunette one year old without blemishes, so I wondered if they were factory seconds.
