This book may pale in comparison to scholarly works on camera psychology; but what it offers is a handy thesaurus and shorthand of themes related to choices of lens and shots that gives ideas and epiphany to your directing choices regarding cinematography on location. Useful, practical.

As a novice videographer, "Shot Psychology" presented many perspectives on shots - particularly relating to cinema, but appropriate to documentaries as well (my interest).Though there are about 300 shot descriptions, the book serves (as it says) as a resource and great reference to explain the many shot variations that we see in all film and video productions - but may not have been aware of the shot and its impact.The author did a fine job in explaining the many nuances of cinema photography.

Not a book I would recomend. Information gets repeaded over and over, which makes reding the book a little frustrating.
