This is a very nice quality perch. I have an African Grey and this perch’s width is spot on for the feet. I do keep the gravel sides at an angle to encourage ware in long nails as she perches. The fastening system may appear a little un promising, but it holds as tight as the average metal wing nut fastening type. I would buy this product again.

This perch screws onto the cage very well, and the size of this item is not what I expected. It is bigger than I thought it was going to be.There was no missing parts and it was easy to assemble.People if you are looking for a sand paper perch, this one is the way to go! It has sand paper on the sides and not on the top. This style is better for parrots because the sand paper won’t be hurting the bottom of their feet!I highly recommend this if you are looking for a sand paper perch.

I bought the small and the extra small, for my cockatiel and parakeet respectively. The extra small is more like the size of the standard smooth wooden birdy perches that come with cages. Although both perches are nice, for smallish birds I think the extra small would work. My cockatiel could use either but I’d say she’s more accustomed to the extra small. These products work effectively, as my parakeet has been on it a while and his nails used to catch on his cage cover but now his nails are in much better shape. And I didn’t have to do a thing, no stress on birdies at all.

Thing is with these large macaw perches that attach to the bars...they gotta deal with a lot of stresses. Macaws are heavy birds. If the mounting hardware is flimsy, cheap or just weak, the perch is useless...totally!Such as the ones that have the plastic screw with a slot in it, which is supposed to make for a stronger mount. Balderdash! When you get into the extra-large sizes of perches like this, they will NOT stand up for long with a macaw. The threads just give out and the nut pops off.This perch, the extra large manzanita, with a very good coating of coarse abrasive, IS strong. It's got a decent size screw into the manzanita, two large washers, and the screw is large, so it's got a large wing nut.It mounts solidly, doesn't "jiggle" much. Bravo took right to it, and he's the one with the most troublesome talons. I watched for a bit and the abrasive is in just the right places to help file his nails. We'll see.Good product. Decent price. I'm getting one for each of our three blue and golds. If you struggle to find good BIG bird products, this one will suit you.

I can’t load the picture but it’s a decent crack. Company told me they are not replacing these if cracked because the wood is hard and they can’t guarantee it. I told owner I would wait for the replacement (he said I could one time) and keep whichever is best. I guess that was my mistake as I only have 2 days now to send the cracked one back. The delay seems intentional to me which is why I am leaving the review. I will be charged for both now but I’ll hold one as a spare and lesson learned. I wish I could post the picture but I can’t. I guess Amazon doesn’t work with Safari. It’s a decent perch and not too heavy which is one reason I wanted it but I don’t appreciate spending this for a crack.

This is probably my bird’s favorite perch. Yeah the price is on the little bit expensive side, but just take a look at this comfy baby, you know it’s gonna worth it.

I love this for my birds nails and that it’s only sanded where the nails would hit so that it doesn’t scrape up the rest of him.I dislike the cage attachment piece, it can only fit right on horizontal bars and pretty large spacing.

The main issue I have with this perch is where it screws onto the cage…it’s huge! I barely can fit it through the bars on the cage and it’s large. I don’t know why it’s so large. It is solid and sturdy and adds a different size in width, so my Budgie’s feet have a different grip to hang onto.
