The only reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars is it needs lubricant but you have to be careful which kind you use. Regular wd40 creates a black grease when the flag spins the metal on metal which will make your flag quite dirty and ruined our flag. It does recommend lubricant but should be specific since 95% of people have WD-40 as the only lubricant in their house. WD-40 silicone works well or a little white lithium grease also works. It is slightly noisier than the plastic ones due to the metal on metal but significantly stronger. I had 3 different plastic ones break in high wind.

These look good, have nice heft, and fit well. One issue I think many will have is the thumb screws catching the caribeners -- at the top of the pole especially. No matter how I adjusted the top ring, the wind would toss the flag enough to catch the caribiner and end up like some of the pictures you'll find in reviews for this product and similar products. a lower profile thumb screw or even a wood/metal screw to permanently mount the rings would likely prevent the catching.An additional issue that may be specific to my home/situation is that the flag is mounted outside near a bedroom window. I can hear the sliding of the movable part of the ring around the static part of the ring. So much so that I took the flag down because it made me jumpy. I believe it would make me less able to hear intruders at my home. If this were near my garage or an unoccupied area of my home, it wouldn't be an issue.

1) They were well packaged and look to be a quality, aluminum item.2) These advertised "...0.75" to 1" rings were too big for my 0.75" pole. Or their screws are too short. Tightened down fully, there was still a millimeter or so clearance between the rings and my pole, and they slid freely. I was about to install shims, when I thought I'd try the tightening screws from my broken plastic ring set -- lo and behold, the screws were the same thread and diameter, and a couple millimeters longer, so I was able to tighten the rings against the pole!3) have had the flag up on a windy day for several hours now, and seen the flag circumvent the pole several times without wrapping or binding, so -- so far, so good!

After purchasing a new flag and new flag pole, we struggled with the flag getting all tangled around itself as the wind blew. Then we researched non-tangle flag poles and discovered that we needed a spinner attachment to keep the flag from tangling when the wind blows hard. Off to the store we went to get a different flag pole with spinner attachments. Sadly, the spinners didn't do the job. The pole itself was fine, but the spinners were low quality. That is when I ordered this product. Problems solved! I was able to install the spinner attachments in less than 5 minutes. My flag can blow in the wind now and not get tangled. I'm happy!

They're certainly nice-looking. However, the single one I was using broke apart after 3 weeks, after days of moderately strong winds. The thing is, at first, it seemed to work a little better after it broke -- the carabiner stayed intact and rotated more freely around the pole after it separated from the mounting ring. So I left it as-is. But after an extra week of that, it started to stick and the flag would tangle. By that point it was time to replace the seasonal flag anyway, so it lasted just barely long enough for me. But definitely not a durable product.

These appear to be well made and sturdy. Also, very easy to install. My one and only issue was the piece that spins (what the flag is attached to) was sticking/hanging up between the two pieces it is mounted between. As a result, the flag would still get twisted up around the pole. I ended up spraying both the top and bottom rings with a little cooking spray. It's been a couple weeks and I have yet to had to go out and untangle the flag.

Unfortunately I am just a few days past the return window for this product. Ordered in early August. Finally got the flag up around the last week of August. On Sept 9th I noticed the flag almost falling off the pole. Closer inspection showed the threads are stripped and the ring won’t stay together. No harsh weather or winds to cause it. I got these because I wanted something that would last long term. Couldn’t even get three weeks out of them.

I disliked everything. Mechanic and metal faber since the beginning of time. These failed on tightening the lock screws as they tried to strip out threads upon tightening to wooden flag pole. Then they lasted 2 (TWO) days! They snapped apart in the first gusts of 25 MPH! Absolute junk. Glad I did not pay much.

These are slick as anything for hanging a flag. They spin around nicely and don’t tangle the flag. Great invention !

Only minor issue i have had is the small threaded rings came loose from the main piece that’s screwed onto the pole and the flag slid down. Tighten up and been fine since.

Extremely high quality. Perfect size and mounting capabilities. I don't know why I haven't bought them before.

These fit loose but do fit the flag pole. I would have thought a one year warranty would be appropriate but 3 months is what they come with.
