Metra 70-8114 Steering Wheel Control Add-On Harness with AUX Input - Fits Select 2002-2015 Toyota/Scion/Lexus Vehicles

Well made, didn't fit my car....everything is off normalcy in my car.

My wife has a Lexus GX470 Non Nav / Non Mark Levinson Sound system. I replaced the factory head unit (Pioneer) with the Binize 10.1 inch Android HU. I got the Metra TYTO-01 kit to connect the new HU to the factory wiring harness, but the steering wheel controls for the GX470 (and likely the Toyota 4-Runner) are on a separate 20 pin plug that goes to the factory HU. Thanks to another user's review here, I was able to connect the Android (which has a SW1 and SW2 Wire) to the factory harness. Here's an excerpt of how to do it from the other user's review: For the 6 wires on the white connector, 3 are of interest. Black wire = GND (connect to GND wire of the new headunit - this is steering wheel controls GND not the main GND - you still need to connect the main ground of the HU). Green/yellow = SW1 / KEY1, green/black = SW2 / KEY2. With this, was able to get the steering wheel controls working with a new Android HU, easy as can be. (End Review) From the Binize Android Head Unit, you go to the settings page and there is a button (scroll down) on the left side that says steering wheel settings. Go in there and you will see various settings (eg. Volume Up, Volume Down, FFWD, RWD, GPS, etc.). Select the desired function onscreen and then press the steering wheel control button that you want to perform that function. I programmed Vol + Vol- Next track, Previous Track, and for the mode button I selected GPS (for which I have Waze set as my default GPS Navigator). The steering wheel controls work great and my wife is thrilled!

Please note, you must also purchase and install the Metra ASWC-1 steering wheel control interface to make this work. I installed the Metra ASWC-1 steering wheel control interface with the Metra 70-8114 Steering wheel control wiring harness to my 2005 Toyota Highlander with the JBL sound system, also using the Metra 70-8113 ASWC wiring harness and the Metra 99-8206 DIN Head unit bracket system for the after market Sony BT4000P Bluetooth audio system. You have to solder four wires for the main wiring harness, but the steering wheel control adapter is just a matter of plugging in the connectors. Every steering wheel control function (Mode, Volume and Selection which changes station in radio more or tracks when in CD or using iPod). The really wonderful part is that this combination utilizes the JBL external amplifier, bringing a hugely dynamic, full, rich sound to your system that you never knew existed! I am really quite pleased with all of the Metra products. IF you have the JBL sound system, do not forget to solder the blue and white wire from the Metra 70-8114 ASWC wiring harness to the red power wire, as this provides the startup signal to the JBL amplifier when the head unit power is turned on. USE ALL METRA PARTS and you will not go wrong!

My car is a 2007 Rav4 Limited Edition. I purchased this to preserve the steering wheel control functions. With respect to the OEM controls, I can still adjust volume, go to next folder go to previous folder (in my case, going to next song or replaying the last song), hang up calls. As far as making calls, it will only call the very last person that I spoke with, if I press the "unhook" button. In order to make a call to the correct person, I have to use the features of Android App. The installation process wasn't totally easy, but doable. Fortunately tech support was pretty good. I'm pretty happy with this purchase, and after about 3 years now, I've not had any complaints, problems.

We used this with a Pioneer AVH-X3800BHS and a Toyota Sienna LE (standard non-JBL, 4 speaker radio). I can say that this was well worth the price in terms of simplifying the installation. It really did make the install "plug and play" once you wire the power and ground. It wasn't clearly noted in the instructions, but the absolute best way I found was to tap directly into the radio wire harness for both connections. I did that at the same time I used the Metra wiring harness for the radio (that allowed me to use the existing Toyota wiring harness). Watch out if you use a t-tap type connector - the wiring on this, the Metra harness, and the car (Toyota) harness are all 18-guage. We initially tried a blue t-tap that claimed it went down to 18-guage but that didn't pierce the wiring properly and the AXXESS device is very sensitive to a clean and constant power and ground. USE the RED t-taps! Yes - very happy with the effort this saved, would like a bit more clarity in the directions but they are as good or better than most I have seen so just note the details above and best of luck!

This part came new in the package, and had the correct part number label on it (70-8114). However, when I opened the package, the connector on the vehicle end is the wrong one. It was not the Toyota 8215 shell 20-pin connector which you actually need, and did not look like the connector in the product image on this site, either. I ended up splicing the three wires from the steering wheel control harness instead, since I didn't want to waste time or money by trying to replace this connector in the hope of getting the correct one next time. This part is worth less than it would cost for return shipping to Amazon, so I guess I'm stuck with it.

Can't say anything particularly good or bad about it. It's thoroughly average in every way. Nothing remarkable. After using for a while.

Do you have a basic Toyota Sienna Radio (non-JBL), steering wheel controls (SWC) and a 3.5mm Aux input. Are you upgrading the Stereo and want to keep your SWC and Aux input working? This is the harness adapter you need. On my install I did not use the Metra Steering Wheel Interface (SWI) with this harness. I instead purchased the PAC SWI-RC. I cut off the black Metra plug from this harness and soldered on the correct wires from the PAC interface With the PAC you can change the function of your SWC buttons to perform other tasks. My van only has 3 buttons on the steering wheel, some have 7. For example when programming the SWI I made the mode button control, voice activation. For Apple CarPlay this is Key! One touch Siri from the steering wheel. The other part of this harness is the Aux input, connect the RCA's directly onto your new Stereo, another adapter my be required, and Boom there you go. Seamless install with everything still working.

Was the perfect fit. Plugged right into the interface and into the vehicle harness.

I tried wiring the AUX with a separate cable and there was always a delay. With this adapter, it allowed me to use the stock AUX port which seems to provide better quality as well as no delay.
