Monterey LG 5145 Vegetable and Ornamental Weeder, One Pint, 16 Oz.

We have been using this for years to prevent weed growth. It works amazingly well, but it does smell like gasoline. Typically we use glyphosate mixed with it to kill all the current weeds and prevent further growth. I typically apply it once or twice a year and never have any problems with weeds.

It was advertised as a safer alternative to Glycophosphate/Roundup, but the warning label on the bottle said it was also a potential carcinogen (NEVER trust the ads on Amazon).After buying a sprayer, a new pump for that sprayer, respirator, protective gear and gloves (abt. $250 invested in personal protection) I finally was able to spray my garden and wait for results. I might as well have sprayed fertilizer on my garden for all the good this junk did. I finally just gave up and cultivated the weeds into the soil, where they will reseed along with my garden plants.

I used this for my fall Green Beans. It did control targeted weeds. Unfortunately, it does not control all weeds. Read the label. I will be using it again in the spring and mixing it with another to control what this does not. It did as it claims.

I am just trying this product for the first time and so far it seems to be working very good.

I don't think this product should be used on sweetcorn

Doing a good job so far. Applied a month ago to my garden. Very few weeds have sprouted.

I can't imagine why Monterey would dis-continue Weed Impede for this nasty Vegetable and ornamental weeder. I protected myself as best I could with a mask, long sleeve shirt a hat and was as careful as can be with this stuff. When I finished spraying the back yard I followed up with a shower and a fresh change of clothes. My throat is very irritated and our yard smells like an old oil refinery. So now we have to be very careful walking around in our back yard as to not carry this stuff on the bottom of our shoes and track it around inside our house. And more than likely not enjoying our back yard now. Oh, I can't imagine eating anything that was grown in the dirt that this stuff was sprayed on. Thanks a lot Monterey Brand.
