I installed these bulbs in ADJ PAR-38BL fixtures and use them for video lighting when I need a tighter beam than flat panel video lights. The color temp is fixed at 3000K with a CRI of 90. Just plug in and go.I have DMX controlled multi-color stage lights but I don't want to haul them when I just want a good shade of white. They're heavier, more expensive and more difficult to set a consistent white color with good CRI.

Having purchased the 120W equivalent version in the past, I know that the 50W rating on this webpage was an error. Clicking on the product energy guide below the photos confirms it's 19W rating. Likely due to their robust heatsinks, these lights weigh in at 7.3 oz. Compare that to the cheaper floodlights, e.g. a 20W version which weighs in at 4.6 oz. Better heat dissipation from a heavier heatsink usually translates to a much longer useful life. With its 90+ CRI rating, you’re not going to get a light as bright as one that pushes too much wattage through its LED's resulting in poor quality light and shorter lifespans. It's the difference between a car with a 400 HP engine running at 200 HP it's entire life vs a car with a 200 HP engine running at 200HP it's entire life. The high CRI is welcome when used indoors, but for outdoor use you probably don't care about color accuracy and may want to consider a flood with a lower CRI but higher output (or equal output at less wattage.) If you don't see the CRI listed on the competing bulb, you can bet that it's poor. So yes, you can find floods with the same output at a lower wattage or higher output at the same wattage, but they likely won't have a high CRI and probably will have a much shorter service life.

Bought this for my parents house. They have a motion light above their garage door and they are so super pleased with the light output! Seriously turns the night into daylight! They love it so much, they've had to show me how bright they are over 3x already! LOL!

Low energy usage, comes on quick, works with motion detector, brightly lights large area.

This LED is replacing a 100 watt bulb. I’m very impressed with the amount of light that is output. Based on some of the reviews, I wasn’t expecting anything this bright (see photos). I’m very happy with this purchase. Hopefully it will last a long time.

Used in open cans in a high ceiling at a church. Previously had FEIT BR40 250W equivalent bulbs but one failed in less than 2 years of very light usage. I actually prefer the color of the Cree and these 150W equivalent PAR bulbs are actually brighter in our usage and closer to halogen. I only wish they made these in even brighter versions.
