BogaGrip second to none
The BogaGrip is second to none. I took some comparative photos to show the differences between Boga and the Entsport gripper. The first thing to notice is the difference in quality and workmanship in the tool itself. Everything on the Boga is thick walled, tight fitting, smooth operating, and feels good in the hand. The Entsport is thin walled, loose fitting, grinds a bit operating the gripper, and light/cheap in the hand. The scale on the Boga is .25 lb increments and the ES is one pound and clearly inaccurate comparing side by side. I do understand the ES goes up to 15kg. The final comparison is the Boga gripper spins allowing for the gripped fish to do what they do - bending and twisting - when caught to help ensure little to no damage to the fish. The ES doesnt spin at all and almost certainly will either damage or break the fish's jaw if the utmost care is not taken in handling. Further, the grabber claws on the ES are loose along with the rest of the mechanism. I could see a fish coming right out of the jaws of the ES! The Boga is solid, tight, and operates smoothly. No concerning wiggle or looseness in its operation whatsoever with the distinctive "click" delivering confidence. Those who know, know. The Boga is the right and best tool for the job that will last a lifetime!

I had my Boga Grip tested at IGFA
Fishermans World is located in my home town. I have never, ever seen a fish tackle company that has such a quality selection, nor a professional staff, as comprable to Fisherman's World. The staff are actual fish guides, fish record holders and instructors.I needed a fish scale for work. I was concerned about spending the $130...and I wanted a digital scale because it's easier to read. But I have been told by some professionals that the digital scales are not as accurate. So I bought the expensive Boga Grip and wondered if I was wasting my money.Have you ever driven a car that was somewhat functional but inexpensive, and then either drove or been a passenger in a BMW or Porsche or Bentley? Just sitting in the car you can feel a substantial difference in quality. It's the same first impression with the Boga Grip. This scale is a balanced, solid and remarkable tool. I needed to get it certified at IGFA in case I encountered an angler who catches a world record fish. I sent the scale to IGFA last week to have it tested. To be certified, the scale needs to be accurate within 1/2 pounds in order to pass. Today I received back my Boga Grip scale with IGFA certificate, but here is where it gets interesting. Tested at 1/2 pound intervals, the scale tested dead-on at every single weight up to its 30 pound limit. Yes, the scale performed brilliantly. So, as you are reading this you're wondering if you should spend the extra money to buy the world's finest fish scale and lip grip? The answer is yes, absolutely! You may not be able to afford the Bentley, the BMW or the Porsche, but the Boga Grip is within reach, and should be when you land that monster world-record fish.

Pricey But A Tool for a Lifetime
I was watching some fishing videos and I notice that this was the Grip that was used. I saw on Amazon much cheaper grips but I am very happy I bought this one. It us lightweight but solidly made. It weighed the fish I recently caught easily but the grip is firm. If you have to buy one, I highly recommend buying the one that will last you a lifetime.

This is the gripper to get.
The BogaGrip cost significantly more than any other gripper, but once you compare them you'll know why. The Boga is truly a well designed and manufactured product that will last a long time, unlike the Chinese made knockoffs. It holds well, works smoothly and weighs accurately. This is something that I can't say about the less expensive grippers. If you consider the cost of replacing the less expensive grippers because they broke or performed poorly, this gripper will be less expensive in the long run. I would like to qualify the comment about weighing accurately. The weight scale is graduated in 1 lb. increments and those increments are fairly close together. The manufacturer calibrates the scale with certified weights to within one increment and it can be certified by IGFA. This is meant for bigger fish and situations where you're not worried about ounces. The BogaGrip does have well written instructions for disassembly and assembly should that be necessary for cleaning. It also includes a tool to aid in the process. It is made in the USA of USA materials.

This thing looks and feels like $124. No one mentioned that theres a "click" ...
I received my Boga yesterday, and used it today. My first impression.. This thing looks and feels like $124. No one mentioned that theres a "click" sound whenever you engage the jaws, and it mechanically sounds like one of my expensive snap-on tools. And you can see that high grade parts were used. Somewhat as professional as a surgeons tool.I was LUCKY enough to catch a 3lb large mouth on my first trip out with the Boga. This has got to be my favorite fishing tool on my kayak! No regrets at all! Worth every penny. My only suggestion.. For the price, the package could be better. Perhaps include a nice case for it sometime in the near future?Other than that, Easy 5 stars!!!Update!!! Day 2 with the Boga and caught a 5.4lb lmb!

Good sturdy product but it's heavy
Good sturdy product but it's heavy. I bought it for wade fishing the Florida flats and found it to be way overkill and too heavy to lug around. I'm sure it would be a good product if you're fishing from a boat. I opted for the floating plastic grip for wade fishing.

Best lip grip on the market.
The boga grip is a great tool with an accurate scale and is fail safe for handling fish.
