Works great on my 65 Mustang 289 hi-po
I bought this because the Ignitor II kit didn't work with my aftermarket distributor. This distributor has GM style cap and centrifugal spark advance. The cap is a little larger where it attaches to the distributor. Because of this I had to modify the bracket that supports my factory air compressor but other than that it fit fine. I also bought the coil and power relay to get 12 volts to the coil and by pass the pink wire resistor.Timing is no where the stock initial timing should be. I started at the sock setting and kept test driving and advancing until the engine runs best, starts easy and doesn't ping. The initial timing mark is off the scale so I measured from the vacuum advance to the air conditioning compressor as a reference.I have only had this installed for a few days so I can't tell about the reliability issues in some of the posts. I intend on carrying a spare Ignitor II replacement unit, tools to replace and a length of jumper wire in my car in case. The wire is to jump from the battery to the coil in case the relay quits. This unit made my engine rus so much better it's worth whatever it takes to make it work.

Fixed!
Installed in a 1970 Mustang with a 302. The original distributor wasn’t providing a good spark, even after new points, rotor, cap, coil, and wires. Installed the new Pertronix unit and the car starts immediately, idles perfectly, and revs freely. I am extremely satisfied with this product.Note: for this engine, I had to hook the vacuum advance to port vacuum. Some reviews suggested using manifold vacuum, but that caused my timing to immediately advance, even at idle, causing a very high idle rpm. Using port vacuum (which is recommended by Pertronix) fixed this.

Customer support laking
I installed the distributor, coil and wires a year and 3 months ago. I was very happy with the performance gains. All was good until no more spark, I went through the system and found that the module mounting plate wasn’t grounded due to the grade mounting plate strap being shredded below the base plate (see photo). I opened a “ticket” per instructions on protronixs web site and never received a response. I called tech support and was told that there was only a one year warranty on part wear. I explained that a brayed cable does not simply shread and break if installed properly he asked me to email photos witch I did with no response. I also inquired about disassembly of the distributor since a ground cable attached below the bottom plate. He had no disassembly information he quested the shaft would have to be removed and could not say if the drive gear was pinned or pressed on. He did tell me I could install any wire to replace the ground cable. Bottom line Techsupport was a waste of time.still no reply after emailing all the requested information and pictures. Even though I was very happy with the performance improvements I will no longer purchase anything from a company that will not support and stand behind there products.

It worked fine for 6 months
Purchased in January and installed in April. The installation was smooth. (remember to bypass the resistor wire -Pink) It was installed on a 289/302. It worked fine for 6 months. At the end of October, the ignition module failed. I was going to place points in the distributor to get by and realized it will not accommodate points. At this time I have ordered a new ignitor ii module. Hopefully it will last longer than the original.
