A perfect replacement for the barbecue cart wheels that were rusty, broken and not rolling and much more economical than the ones Weber sells. However, they should make something more substantial like urethane, ball-bearing wheels.I followed another user's advice and propped up the cart with a block of wood, used a pair of pliers to put around the wheel's axle, on top of the wheel, then smacked the wheel out and put the new ones in without removing the square, plastic insert in the leg.

If all you need for your grill is the casters then this will save you $$. If your sockets are broken/damaged then you need the Weber 6414 part (which is just _one_ caster + socket -- for more than a pair of these).Do not be tempted by the non-locking version of this caster (Shepherd 9418) -- these roll so well that if your grill is on any slope at all (like in your garage) it will head downhill as soon as you turn your back, until it hits something. Used on Weber Genesis 3000

I am very disappointed in these “locking’ casters. They are hard plastic, so even when they actually stay locked (which is hardly ever) they will slide across a wood or smooth surfaced floor because they have zero traction. I had to put a throw rug under the chair to stop that sliding, however, they DON’T STAY LOCKED and I find that at least twice a week I have to tip the chair to lock the wheels AGAIN and AGAIN. I can’t put my old casters back in because even though these are advertised as the same exact size, we had to make an adjustment to the legs of the chair to fit these new ones. Spend your money on rubber, non-slip casters that have real locks—not cheap plastic breakaway levers to push down every five minutes. Ugh

Used to replace my cheap steel bed frame. Legs are half inch holes and have plastic sleeves in them for 3/8 wheel stems. This wheel comes with sheetmetal sleeve that will not have fit into half inch holes. I kept the plastic sleeves then these wheels fit fine. The stem on this wheel is not made for fitting into plastic sleeves.

Even though I've tried to take care of my Weber gas grill, the wheels rusted internally and seized. The old wheels were difficult to remove, but these wheels were easy to install. I popped the new wheels off the axle and put a generous amount of grease on the axles, then popped the wheels back on. I also greased the pivot shaft. Now my grill is easy to move. I was very glad to find a high quality replacement for my grill wheels.
