As is my nature, I researched many options before making a purchase. This decision was based on the following criteria (not in a specific order):Durability - these baskets are built very well, heavy gauge throughout. The sides are strong and not bendable. The top ring, which is heavier gauge than the sides, will certainly ensure the basket will maintain its shape. The bottom "plate" is thick with 3 dense rubber feet that are securely attached.Functionality: the baskets are wider than most other options so layering of fruit will be minimal thus reducing bruising. The two basket set will allow me to temporarily store one when my fruit supply is low as opposed to the fruit baskets with two (or more) attached compartments which, if not fully utilized, may look unappealing.Because the sides consist of so many wires, the fruit's weight will be more evenly distributed and again, result in less bruising.Appearance: sleek, contemporary and non-obtrusive like so many seem to be. I want my fruit to be the attraction, not the basket.Packaging: I was nearly as impressed with the protective packaging as the baskets themselves! Each were secured in bubble wrap and then tightly wrapped in plastic. Then, one was stacked in the other so as to provide support for each and the two were enclosed in a plastic bag. Some may argue too much packaging in the context of landfill usage, but having to return and replace products creates more waste in the long run; this I know all too well.I will be eager to buy from this manufacturer in the future! My review was unsolicited and I received nothing in return. I was just extremely satisficed with the purchase.

Simple, solid chic design. It's perfect for fruit as it's wide enough to put in 4 apples, a bunch of bananas, 4 plums and 3 big navel oranges. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for bread unless they are more dinner roll-type. I love the design and plan to order the smaller matching one for my tomatoes and garlic.

Nice-looking bowl. I like that it's wider and shallower than most fruit bowls, so that there isn't a fruit avalanche when digging to the bottom for a kiwi!

Love this fruit basket, it’s fairly large and holds my two 3 pound bags of apples nicely. It has a very minimal design that goes well with almost any layout. Very light weight, but durable.
