It’s not a steel stake.
Love these stakes used as intended they are amazing , light and very strong. I used 8 of them in Death Valley in strong winds to keep my tent up. I bent one and broke one. I was hammering them into desert rock. All are still usable one is an inch shorter. Buy em! Use them as intended or don’t. You’ll be happy with your purchase either way.

Lightweight and fairly strong.
I bought these stakes so I would have some extra for my kit and also because they are better than the cheap ones that most tents include. These things are extremely lightweight and are a really good size/shape for most tents. I would point out that they are strong enough for the job but you probably don't want to hit these too hard with a steel or wooden hammer/mallet. I used my hatchet but was very careful with the force I used. The design is different than traditional stakes which usually have a hook shape at the top. These are straight shaft and have a rope groove near the head so you will want to drive these at an angle away from the tent and that should keep them from pulling out or the tent from slipping over. If you carry a hammer with you hiking then the claw can be used to pull these up but again remember these are aluminum so if you use a steel hammer/mallet/hatchet to drive or pull these then be careful. Although these are strong, the steel tool is going to win every time.

Great Buy!
Excellent! Light weight, durable, and value priced. The length is good, and they work well in dirt, sand, and probably other ground surfaces as well. I would recommend.

Light weights for the old school crowd
These are as I needed “longer” @ 9”I hope they stand up to heavy duty use understood 50 years ago! As these are in my consideration light weights, so I sincerely think the heavy duty description they use is discarded as its a fallacy or I guess? support it as the new normal for nowadays.Good day

Great product!
These tent stakes arrived a short time ago, and I can't wait to try them out tomorrow. If they perform as well as they look to be a quality product (and they should), then these are a great purchase. I am excited about these!

Affordable upgrade for the flimsy stakes that come with most tents
The stakes are lost cost but an upgrade of the the flimsy stakes that come with most lower mid-price tents. They're light and stay put in the ground well.

Work well. Nice to carry.
Little heavy, and bend if you hammer into a rock. But long and hold well.

A great upgrade from bog-standard steel pegs
Just used these for the first time and am very happy with them. They take a heavy beating when banging them into the ground, their teeth at the top grip the tie-downs very easily, and the quick pull-up strings are useful for finding and removing them. An excellent upgrade to the tent setup experience.

great stake upgrade
These work really well; have had them for 4 years of regular use. Waaaaay better than the plastic or cheap alu pegs that tents usually come with. They handle most dirt types, are easy to pull out by the loops, and the notches catch the tent lines nicely. Plus, they are a neat colour, very lightweight, and have cool reflective cords!

Nice and long but get damaged easily
These stakes are nice and long, and pretty light. Sadly, if you hit rocks, they'll bend super easily, and the tips will get burs that are very sharp and will damage your tent if you're not careful how you store them.I'll keep using them, but will be looking for something else in the future.
