The hooks are very comfortable to use although you may have to adjust the way you hold your hooks slightly from the way you hold a non-ergo hook. The end of the hook functions perfectly with no snags and proper gripping to pull the yarn through your knots. I use the "J" quite a bit and wish that the kit would have included a "K" as I am nearly blind and need the larger size now; but, many of the girls in our Prayer Shawl Ministry use the smaller sizes and love them. (I have squeezed in a "K" into my kit quite comfortably.) The case and accessories are wonderful and very well thought out. It keeps everything at your finger tips if you are traveling or working on your projects away from home. I like the metal darning needles better than the plastic ones that come with the kit; but, the plastic will do in a pinch and they have a nice, smooth finish as well. I substituted my metal needles which came in a nice little tube for the plastic ones and donated them to our group. (The darning needles are not for sewing; you will need sewing needles for that.) The darning needles come in the three most popular sizes are in the carry pouch with the rest of your accessories. The accessories are everything you could want or need...place markers, tape measure, needle sizer, the list goes on. This is an amazing and very affordable kit...better and more complete than the $75 kits I have seen elsewhere. I have not had any problems with the needles coming out of the grips; but, figured if I did I could always put them back in with a drop of glue. The rubber handles are every bit as good as the more expensive ones. I bought two kits to test out...one for me, and one for my friend...and will be buying several more for our group for Christmas gifts.

I bought this over a year ago and just love it. This is my "go-to" crochet kit for those projects that I know will require endurance. Often times crochet hooks dig into my palms and I cannot crochet for more than an hour at most. These are so comfortable and the space between the hook and the ergonomic handle has plenty of space to do increase or decrease stitches that can have 6-8 stitches on the hook at the same time. I've crocheted for many years and have no preference to the shape of the throat (inline or taper). I've learned to crochet with what I have access to at the time (you know how it goes; 1. hooks are with another project far away from you location, 2. the store you ran to only has this type of hook, 3. my cat (or pet of your choosing) played with the hook and now no one can find it even after rearranging all the furniture, etc.). The handle is the most important part for me. There is nothing more annoying than when the handle digs into the palm of your hand. Yes, even some ergonomic handles are so hard that my palm will get sore from using the hooks. Not this set! To run a test for different size hands various friends and family have tried this set and all love them and I've given them the link so they can buy some too. Our 14 yr old granddaughter has shown an interest in crocheting and if she continues I'll buy this set as a gift for her too. This set is a gem and usually when purchased at this price the scissors, stitch markers, ruler, case, something (or all things in the kit) will be horrible. Nope, not this one. Not only are the hooks sturdy and comfortable, but the case is sturdy (it will not stand up to a hurricane, but it can take being in a project bag), the scissors fold in such a way that transporting is safe and some of the best I've used. The stitch markers are the typical stitch markers, but are perfect for the average crochet project. This little kit has all a person would need for the average project and is a great set for someone who needs a set that will travel easily. The only thing I added was a retractable tape measure as I do a lot of afghan work that requires measurements longer than measure tools provided in the kit. The only bummer for me is our indoor magician of a cat actually did walk off with two of my hooks from this kit when I was doing a pooling technique scarf (which we have literally moved every piece of furniture hunting and the hooks are still lost to this very day and to make matters worse they were the ever so common H and J hooks). But that is not the seller's fault that I can't keep my cat out of my crocheting and knitting bags! My only wish is they would make a separate kit with some of the larger hooks because I do have some projects that use hooks like P and Q with bulky yarns. Order this kit as this great price, you will not be disappointed. But please don't bring it to my house where the magician cat will make a hook or two disappear if you leave the project alone for 5 minutes. :)

After 40 years I wanted to re-teach myself how to crochet. Did not want to spend a lot, so I got this set and ordered some yarn from the Lion Brand website. Well, I'm having so much fun! There are a ton of YouTube videos that will teach you all of the basics and more step-by-step. For less than $20 you can start a new hobby. As an experienced knitter and seamstress, I lean toward good value tools that aren't cheap but also don't break the bank. This set is exactly that. I thought that I would buy a Clover set later if I enjoyed crocheting, but I really don't think I will. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, and these hooks are smooth and the handles are comfortable. The little case is solid and functional as well. I'm currently working on a scarf, a shawl and a blanket. Anything I've thrown at these hooks they have handled with ease. Do not hesitate: this is a solid set. (The "extras" included in this set are mostly crap. The scissors and stitch markers are okay, but plastic darning needles are from the Devil. Get youself a nice jumbo Chibi bent-tip darning needle. Makes a world of difference when sewing in all of those inevitable ends. Also, a small retractable tape measure would be a nice addition to this kit.)

Was looking to see if ergonomic hooks would be worth it - I decided to try this brand over the expensive kinds. Glad I did!! Lightweight, very comfy even after hours of crocheting on end. The case is wonderful as it keeps everything in place, easy to keep track of and all the thingies in the zipper bag are really handy (If you want to take it on an airplane, remove the scissors and take a toenail clipper instead). The hooks themselves are solid metal, don't scratch or snag on man-made yarns or natural fibres either, very smooth, consistent and a joy to work with. As with some other reviews, if you crochet *very tightly* as is necessary for some projects (like amigurumi), the metal part (hook stem) may come loose from the neoprene padding handle. I tried unsuccessfully to glue them with Loctite superglue brush on (supposed to bind metals to other objects/materials) for quite a while. While compiling an Amazon order of other things, I decided to look through the reviews to see if anyone had used a different glue (epoxy? silicone?) and lo and behold! The seller had responded to a customer who had the same problem as I did! I messaged the seller's store and she kindly provided a replacement. THAT IS HOW YOU DO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thank you, Maddy! She is also the ONLY seller who has ever sent me a message asking if I was happy the product (I didn't even know you could get messages here) I really appreciate the responsiveness and responsibility. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who crochets a lot, or who crochets away from home (the compact case of everything you need is invaluable)! And I would also recommend this seller, from my excellent experience with them. Other sellers could learn a lot from Maddy and the BeCreative store.

I started to crochet recently. It was a bit of a spur-of-the-moment whim, so I went to my local craft store and purchased yarn and a single size H hook which was prescribed for the pattern in which I was interested. I ordered this set to supplement my supplies and liked the idea of having everything I needed in a handy case. This set gets full marks for comfortable handles on the hooks and a great case. The scissors are sharp and ideally sized and the other assorted supplies are fantastic. I have swapped out the plastic tapestry needles for sharper metal just because they are my preference, but the plastic ones will do the job of weaving in your ends. The metal ones I bought came in a little plastic tube that fits perfectly in the zippered section in the case. I would gift this to anyone i know who is interested in starting to crochet. It's inexpensive for what you get and includes everything you need to get started. My one complaint is that compared to the single H hook I purchased, the metal on these hooks doesn't let the yarn slide nearly as well. It's not the yarn, it's the hook. The single H hook I bought is a different brand and must have some sort of coating that makes the yarn slide on it like a dream. With the hooks in this set, there is constant friction that slows progress and makes these difficult to use. I'll probably just pull the hooks out and replace them with the ones I prefer since I really like the case.

I bought these hooks because I needed to have the correct size in order to make a Mochila bag in tapestry crochet. The bag requires 2 mm or 2.5 mm, depending on how tightly one crochets. Most of my hooks, except for the smaller ones that I use to make doilies, are lettered. I checked sizing charts and when I realized that I still wasn't certain which hooks to use, I searched for a set of numbered hooks. I ran across these and liked the padded handles. I bought them on Smile Amazon Prime. They came promptly, and I am pleased with the quality of the hooks and the hard case. The little pouch is a nice extra, although the contents are run of the mill. However, they are also handy to have right there. I might replace one or two of the items as I see the need, but overall, the case is great. As for the hooks, they are very comfortable for my hands which have some arthritis and have had carpal tunnel surgery. The hooks are easy to use and quite comfortable. The yarn stays on the hook and the shaft is long enough that the handle does not interfere with my crocheting. I like this set a lot! Great service and a good, solid set of hooks in a sweet case. I'm including a photo of the bottom of the Mochila bag that I am doing in tapestry crochet with these hooks. (This is round, but the perspective makes it look deformed.) I have to carry 3 strands of yarn while crocheting tightly over them with the fourth. I have had absolutely no problems with these hooks and my hands have not hurt either. I'm very pleased.

I researched (and researched and researched) for a new set of crochet needles regardless of price and came across these. I saw mostly positive reviews, and also noticed some reviews were from free or reduced price products (no judgment here, just an observation). I paid for these myself. I've been using them every day on an afghan project I started the day I received them roughly a week ago. I am so pleased with them thus far. They are very comfortable and easy to hold (I use the pencil hold method). There is a flat portion on the needle for the hold area. The kit is wonderful. I love the blue dot case which is easy to wipe. In addition to the nine comfortable crochet needles, there is a small inner mesh compartment that holds a bunch of goodies. I've used several goodies so far including the stitch counter, scissors, measuring tape, and stitch holder in addition to the gauge ruler that has its own slot in the case. I will be using the large yarn needles when I do the finishing work at the end of the project. I plan on likely buying several additional sets for the holidays: for mom, daughter, and sister-in-law. The needles are smooth. I've not had a single snag with my needles. One concern I had was if I would be able to hold enough loops on the needle. No problem with that either for my needs so far. I am happy with this purchase at this point! I also purchased the yarn holder from the same company for which I'll do a separate review when I'm ready.

I really like this kit!! It's well-constructed (stitching nice & even, zipper operates smoothly, hard-shell laminated easy-to-wipe case, elastic holders for the crochet hooks are even and stitched down well. Even the stitch gauge/ruler has it's own elastic holder). The little mesh pack full of goodies snaps out (very convenient!), and the goodies themselves are very nice (folding metal embroidery scissors as well as the usual items you find in these kits --- stitch markers, stitch counter, tape measure, yarn needles). A lot of thought went into designing this kit. I must confess, however, that I bought the case to put MY special crochet hooks into. I LOVE the Clover Soft Touch hooks & I have the set of 8, plus I purchased a size "K" hook from another company. There are exactly 9 slots for hooks in this case so all my hooks fit perfectly. I am saving the hooks that came with this case as back-up. So my review, unfortunately, does not include evaluating the hooks. I looked at many other kits and a lot of the cases seemed to be cheaply made (terrible uneven stitching, zippers sewn in haphazardly, loose threads). This kit costs a little more than some of the others but I think it's worth it. It's a bargain, actually. You couldn't buy each of the items that are included separately without paying a lot more. Highly recommended!

Ich muss zugeben Anfangs wahr ich skeptisch. Die sehen vielleicht etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig aus, aber sie sind mit abstand die Besten die ich je kennen gelernt habe. Ich muss zu geben ich bin ein Häckel Anfänger und hatte bei meiner alten Nadel ständig schmerzen, ich dachte das gibt sich mit der Zeit. Jetzt kann ich Stunden Lang Häckeln ohne Probleme. Ich bin einfach begeistert. Die Nadeln sind griffig, sie rutschen einen nicht aus den Fingern, die Hacken sind gut geformt so das der Faden nicht verloren geht und es lässt sich im allgemeinen viel entspannter damit arbeiten. und das Beste ist noch die praktische Aufbewahrungstasche, die lässt sich gut verstauen aber auch mitnehmen, nicht mehr das ewige suchen nach den Nadeln in einem wilden Haufen. Ich kann dieses Set echt nur empfehlen, für Anfänger und Profis ideal geeignet und ein fairer Preis für das was man alles dazu bekommt. Gerade für Anfänger ist auch das Lineal mit Fadenstärkelöchern und Nadelstärke dazu passen, echt eine große Hilfe. Das einzige was ich bei dem Kauf bereuen muss ist das ich es erst so spät getan hab.

Great little crochet hook and accessories set for a beginner at a very affordable price. It provides you with everything needed to start your crochet adventure (apart from the yarn, of course). This set compares well with Boye hooks. However, I wouldn’t recommend this set if you are looking for super smooth hooks. They do work well though, and have a very comfortable grip. The case is also sturdy and well made. Love the little pocket inside that contains all the accessories. The zipper seems durable enough not to break. The fold-up scissors are handy, cuts well, but not my favourite (But again, it does the job). All-in-all, I would definitely recommend this set for beginners.
