SEIKO Prospex Black Dial Men's Watch SNE541P1

This seiko dive watch is solar powered, so there's no battery to replace. And the watch is proving to be extremely accurate when tested against online ntp time standards... 0.5 seconds lost in a month. Very happy with the styling and with this purchase.

The Watch is nice but not quite what I was expecting. It is very light ... good...however it wears smaller than I was expecting and honestly feels like a cheap watch overall. At this price point (it not inexpensive) I was expecting something more substantial in looks and overall feel. To me it feels more like a Casio. Those with smaller wrists will probably find the watch acceptable. For the Money I can get something more realistic either in a lightly used or new microbrand. It seem Seiko prices have elevated beyond my interest for what I get for them, both in this watch and in other offerings. Returned.

I was so pleased when this watch arrived… it is a really nice piece, solid without being heavy, perfect for summer wear. I was pleasantly surprised that the bezel pip, chapter ring, hands, and indices were all aligned (Seiko is notoriously bad with this).Then I looked at the watch under fluorescent lighting and saw weird streaks on the crystal. I wiped the crystal several times and realized these weird water streaks/stains were on the UNDERSIDE of the crystal… yep, the underside of the crystal of this brand new watch is visibly dirty.I want to like Seiko so badly but it feels like they are about 50/50 on whether a watch has significant quality control issues or not. Really disappointed as the look, feel, and function of this watch is exactly what I was looking for in a summer weekend beater. Now I have to keep looking.

Great sturdy watch and very modifiable. Just did a few mods to enhance its utilitarian looks.

Good solid watch. Looks awesome and I've had comments on it in just the 4 days I've had it.

The watch arrived in standard Amazon packaging. Once opened I was very pleased with the watch. Alignment is good, second hand strikes markers and the lume is typical seiko good. I put the watch on a strap code endmill. The stock silicon bracelet is very comfortable, but I do really like it on the metal bracelet. I have a bunch of seikos and a couple “baby tunas” (being automatics) and this one does not disappoint. The low key bezel markers and the black shroud are top notch. The watch is keeping excellent time. The price was good. If you are thinking about it and have the money, I say go for it. Bang for the buck, it’s worth it. Just remember it is a solar watch, if you switch your watch a lot, feed it sun light every now and then. It will last 10 months on a full charge, but best to keep it fed.

Positive:- The watch is very light and comfortable to wear.- Looks great and feels durable.Negatives:- The crown was not screwed in when the watch arrived.- The hour indicators don’t *perfectly* line up with the other indicators and the second hand is ever so slightly off the indicators.- Sapphire crystal would have been great.Overall 4/5 as of my first week of wearing it (June 17 2020).
