Has anyone used these on a grass field and how did that work out?

We have used these bases on both grass and dirt and they have worked out great. They are sturdy bases.

How do you get rid of the slippery surface on the top?

I did not do anything as far as the surface. Did not affect my sons play. We used for practice only

Where are these made?

I just went out in the garage to check the box, they are made in Taiwan. I will tell you they are substantial and highly recommend them. My kids, Grands and husband used them playing kickball over the Easter weekend and they all gave a thumbs up.
