First off, this is a very high quality "fidget" device; it's a high precision spinner, with a hypnotic visual effect. The reason for this is that the spiral that is milled into it is not a conventional spiral - it is neither a straight, nor a tapered spiral- it's actually a SPHERICAL spiral. I'm into solid geometry- I work with a solid modeling program, and I can appreciate the difference. In solid modeling, you can easily make a straight spiral coil (a typical coil spring, for instance) or even a tapered (cone shaped) coil- but there is no way to easily make a coil that actually has a spherical pitch- and that's what the groove in this ball is, and it's why it's so mesmerizing to watch. VERY cool!

Maybe I'm the only one, but I end up buying random impractical things online when I should be asleep. In this case, I'm glad I did! At 2am this gold spinning paperweight looked incredible online. In the morning I was really questioning my judgment but thought I'd at least see what it looked like when it arrived. By the time it arrived I had completely forgotten about ordering it and image my suprise when I ripped open a package and this hunk of gold metal came out. I was so impressed! It's like that relative who always gave you terrible or unusable gifts but that one time they found you the coolest thing... that's this paperweight! It's actually made of metal and it's a solid weight. It's about the same size as the lacrosse ball, smaller than a tennis ball. It was a bit smaller than it looked online but everything else exceeded expectations. It spins so beautifully and smooth. The line design is mesmerizing. Spin one way and it looks like the lines are moving up. Spin it the other way and they go down. It's also quiet with a whoosh sound when it spins. It's heavy enough to use as an actual paperweight if needed but it's a great classy spinning sphere. I use it all the time when stuck on conference calls. I find it very soothing and relaxing. It's visually beautiful, it makes a calm white noise and allows you to physically spin it giving your hands something to do. It's just what this poor quarantined office worker needed. The perfect item I had no idea I wanted. I'm considering purchasing more for gifts. It's lovely and worth every penny. Just buy it!

If you're anything like me, and frequently work from home, with a lot of video meetings, you find it hard to focus and keep from fidgeting. I was looking for a sturdy, quiet, discrete desk gadget that could keep me occupied and help me concentrate on my meetings. This sphere absolutely fits the bill. It's well-made, heavy, and nearly silent even when spinning at full speed. It's attractive, and frankly, mesmerizing. Would highly recommend it, and am thinking of buying a second one for the office.

If you like to figit at your desk, this is definately the way to go. The mezmorizing spin makes for a great stress reliever. It works on a desk or flat serfice but isn't the type of thing you can cary around with you. I got the blue color which I've really enjoyed.

The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a desktop toy like Newton's Cradle when I stumbled across this. It's sturdy and a fun optical illusion. I also love the color. It's relaxing and a nice stress reducer.

I timed mine, the basic spin is around two minutes. When I spin it aggressively, it’ll go for 3 1/2 to 4 minutes. I keep it at my desk at work, whenever I start to feel overwhelmed, I give it a good spin, watch for a few minutes, and feel productive and focused, again. You could say I’m wasting time by watching some toy instead of working, but I really do think it increases productivity. I feel as though I do more focused work rather than having my mind in a million places at once and semi-focusing on my job. Even if it didn’t help with anything, it’s still cool to watch. 10/10 for me.

This spinner is beautiful and spins so easily. I love the purple and with the current Covid19 virus they are easily cleaned. Though spinners are small this one was larger then I expected. A little larger then a ping pong ball.I love to have fidgets around the house for adult-kids and grandkids alike. Everyone who comes over loves to play with "Grammys Toys". They have even been know to put down the electronics to play with them.

I got this as a gift for my husband to take to his work desk. However, it has not made it out of our house yet because everyone here loves it. It sits on one of our main bar tops, and every time somebody walks by they spin it. It is fascinating to watch!
