BIGTREETECH TFT35 V3.0.1 Graphic Smart Display Controller Board for 3D Printer Ramps 1.4 RepRap 3D Printer Can Select Two Work Modes

I have used these in several prusa bear clone builds, and love them. Have started doing my own firmware builds, and it very easy to do. Dual functionality with Marlin screen and touchscreen works great, never had any problems with either.

So cool. I can use the old fashioned mode to access calibration and tuning, and have available the advanced touchscreen features as well. In Marlin, set LCD screen type to REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_CONTROLLER Note: connection to a bigtreetech tango 1.0 worked properly when EXP1/EXP2 cables were plugged according to the keying on the ribbon cable. TFT mode is not possible to the Tango. Connection to a makerbase mks gen L required the removal of the keying on one end of each cable and one end of each cable must be rotated. You know it needs to be swapped when screen stays blank and rotating the encoder reboots the display For TFT mode, use the tft header (5v/gnd/tx/rx) and run reset to the rst pin on icsp header.

Once you get the software sorted it works great. No issues with it at all. Nice and easy to see. Easy to use lite pressure is all that is required.

This is the preferred screen for the SKR 1.4 board from BigTreeTech. It works well and has a variety of options built into it. The only detraction is that the included firmware is not open source. My recommendation is to update it to the latest available firmware with your choice of theming and graphics, then run it in "Marlin mode" (12864 compatibility) most of the time. This gives you direct control over Marlin instead of acting as another serial controller as it does in touchscreen mode. Touchscreen mode does offer convenient control over movement, babystepping, etc. so it is a great option to have. I feel that legacy Marlin mode shows more relevant information at any given time but you can switch between them at any time. I would give it 5 stars if the firmware was open source. It would be nice to know that the code would be maintainable by the community after BTT moves onto the next generation of products.

Nice little device for sure, super clean look and feel. In version .26 it has incomplete emulation of the st7920 so it does not yet work with klipper or any other firmware that depends on the character generator behavior. as of April 2020 there is a pinned issue on their github that makes me feel this will be resolved soon. Even if BTT doesn't do the work some part of the community can.

Worked well with my skr v1.3 it was plug and play. I could use either the single cable or the exp 1 and 2. It came with the most current firmware on it.

Don't buy if you under the impression it is going to be a simple intall!! I have spent at least 20 hours on the internet and still can't get the touch mode on the tft35 to connect with my bigtreetech skr v1.4. You would think it would be documented somewhere, especially since those items are sold as a package. Nothing on YouTube to help me connect the tft35 to the skr 1.4. I have not yet ask on Facebook Bigtreeteck page. The tft pinnouts for the skr 1.3 and skr 1.4 are different when you compare then in the documentation. There are cases where pluging things in the wrong spot or wrong order destroys the board. Anyway I think it is setup correctly but I get the (not connected to printer)message.

I bought this screen to build a custom 3d printer. I'd researched for weeks on the "best" upgrades and this one was always at the top of the list. It was delivered as promised, in beautiful packaging, with ZERO instructions. None. There's a piece of paper that says to go to their GitHub, Discord or F**ebook page. What if I don't use Discord or Facebook? Well, despite this board having dozens of options, hundreds of connectors, jumpers and headers, the "user manual" is 8 pages of useless information. Both the GitHub location and the "user manual" indicate that some drawings (very important power-related jumper settings) might be wrong. I had questions, so I tried the Discord - no answers. I tried multiple emails - no replies. After complete frustration set in, I tried Facebook. I was berated and bullied by several members (including an admin) for asking questions too "aggressively". Still no answers, though. Not a one. TLDR; buy this product ONLY if you have 100% confidence that you know how to configure and connect it because there will be no help from the people that make it. BTT has already warned me that they're going to bully and shame me some more, using my Facebook posts, if I posted an honest review. So, that's who you'd be dealing with if you need help with this or any other BigTreeTech product. They'll never get another dime from me and whoever's reading this should reconsider, as well.

Installed with BTT skr V2 & ESP(for wifi) plus this screen and 3DTouch, also 5 x TMC2209 drivers Installed on Artillery Sidewinder X1 with Marlin 2.0.9 firmware, modified :) Very good. Can't fault it (yet - still early days) Nice upgrade, and use either touch screen or marlin mode. Each have their own merits.
