Fighting For You (The Connor Family) Paperback – June 19, 2019

I loved Fighting For You by Layla Hagen. Fighting For You is the fifth book in the Connor Family Series. Layla Hagen is an amazing storyteller and I could not put the book down. I loved all the characters in the story, they are so believable. Fighting For You is the story of soccer superstar and MVP, Jace Connor and Brooke Derringer, the new hire in the PR Department for the the LA Lords, who also happens to be the coach's daughter. Brooke wants to prove herself and that she did not get hired because of her Dad. Brooke had broke up with her boyfriend, her best friend moved away to London, and she lost her job, because she wanted to stay close to her family during their crises. For Jace and Brooke it is lust at first sight, but Brooke keeps putting Jace off, because she does not want to jeopardize her job or her relationship with Jace and the LA Lords. Brooke is really enjoying her job and is excelling at it. On a planned trip to NY, for a magazine photo shoot and story, Brooke finally gives into Jace and it changes their entire relationship. Then something happens between Jace and one of his teammates and it has Brooke rethinking everything and her life is suddenly turned upside down again. I love how Layla always includes such wonderful plot twists, surprises, and heart warming moments in her books. I loved the bittersweet moments in the book, and how Jace opened up to Brooke. I always love getting caught up with the other members of the Connor family in the series. Loved the moments surrounding the birth of Evelyn and how Jace interacts with this nieces and nephew. I loved Jace's story. It was truly one he deserved and Brooke was definitely worth fighting for. I am so looking forward to reading Hailey's story, but it will truly be bittersweet since it is the last one in the series.

This story is all about finding love. Jace is the handsome MVP on a professional soccer team. He has no serious interest in girls until Brooke was hired by the soccer club to acquire new sponsors for the team as well as individual players. She was also the coach’s daughter so for her dating players was a no no. Jace was instantly attraction to Brooke so his persistence to date Brooke on the sly finally paid off. I liked how the story line moved right along. I highly recommend “Fighting For You” if you like romance.

I love all of the Connor’s but I have to say Jace is my favorite! Jace is the youngest of the family, but he is the most protective of his sisters and he loves his family fiercely. After a bit of enjoying the benefits of being the MVP Jace decides he needs to tone down his ways. Jace has set his eyes on a new member of the club. She’s smart, beautiful and driven. There’s just one major problem, the coach’s daughter. Brooke is new to the management team and wants to impress her new boss along with her dad. Her last job she mixed business and pleasure and it ended in disaster and heart break. Jace is drawn to Brooke and wants to get to know her and spend time with her outside the club. Brooke is determined to keep Jace at arm’s length and only be friendly with him and the other players. However, the more time they spend together the harder it is for Brooke to keep it on friendly terms.Jace and Brooke’s relationship is put to the test when a fight breaks out between Jace and a team member. Brooke feels like she’s loosing everything all over again and Jace needs to decide what is more important, his career or the woman he’s falling for.

I just love this Connor family! Somehow time after time Layla keeps giving us wonderful characters in which to fall in love with! I never think I can love one more than the other and then, well, here's Jace. Jace won me over from all the others in this book! He is simply everything wrapped up in a sexy, sweet athletic package, and he's totally swoonworthy! I adore him and Brooke together! She is perfect for him and vice versa. They have amazing chemistry and are each other's champion, their "person", which I totally love! So often you don't see a couple so involved in each others careers and I love that they have that connection. Brooke is amazing! She is so smart and driven and I love the way her mind works. From the get-go she makes Jace want things he never really wanted before. Watching their relationship blossom is such a treat, especially for a romantic. Things are not always easy for them, but nothing worth it ever is. Another wonderful story in The Connor Family series that left me with a full heart and a smile on my face.

This was my first series by Ms. Hagen then I found out about the Bennett's series and have enjoyed Ms. Hagen's family series since.In this storyline Jace is the second to last Connor's to get his HEA. Jace is a professional soccer player who has been GQ bachelor of the year and has no problem getting ladies. Brooke comes to work for the Lord soccer team organization and he is instantly smitten. Brooke at first ignores Jace seemingly flirtation due to her being the coach's daughter and she has just come out of relationship and has no interest in getting involved with a seemingly man-whore. As time goes by Brooke realizes she underestimate Jace. I loved that unlike many romance novel where neither want to save I love you first I like that Jace shared with her earlier than expected that he loved her.

Loved the story of Jace and Brooke. Jace is the gorgeous, superstar athlete that women can't get enough of baby brother in the Connor clan. He has women swooning over him but they don't understand what it would take to make Jace a one woman man. Enter Brooke Derringer, she is not looking for any relationship, especially not one with a fellow employee, besides she wants to be seen as a person who received the job on her own merit, not because her father is the coach of the team or because MVP player Jace has taken an interest in her. So follows the push and pull of connection and you know what happens, Layla writes a happily ever after for them both. I have never read a Layla Hagen book I didn't like. Enjoy this book number 5 of the Connor series I do believe their is only one more and that is Hillary.

Like this series, the characters and their love stories. What was especially interesting was the insight into the soccer scene in the USA. Hmm. Bit different from UK but maybe we could with more owners and players like those described here!

Omg some people are just jealous of what you can do and that's what happens to Brooke. She was good at her job and found some one to love and then things take a turn for the worst.Jace footballer and all round superstar had his sights on Brooke and never have up now he found some one just for him and got his wealth.

A good storyline. Jace and Brookes story. Very romantic, some drama with Brookes PR job where she meets Jace. Brooke is also the Coach’s daughter. Worth the read.

Love this book! Another amazing read from the series I've found myself hooked on!Easy to read, easy to pick up but never want to put down! Onto the next.... 😃

Ive6read this serie, not in order, but I can't decide which one I prefer! When I read Val's story, thought it was so sweet, but then, I read Lori's and Graham's book I melted, and now THIS! I think it's been the most romantic one!I can't wait to read Hailey's story, I've been wondering about her story. When I read the last paragraph of this book I was so intrigued, I'm so excited.Definitely huge fan of Layla.
