This was what we needed when we had to replace our booster pump and also put in a new impeller.It did have a small amount of water seeping through at first.We then opened it up and spread some marine lube around the seal and it hasn't leaked or had any seepage since.Great deal buying here. The seal kit at our local pool shop was $32.99Would be good if they could supply a small ampule of Teflon Magic lube with this, as leakage seems to be a problem that some people have.Without supplying the proper lubricant with this seal, I would be concerned that people will use a standard petroleum based one: that will EAT the gasket and cause failure.If you buy this: buy some Teflon Magic lube as well...just in case.

Worked as expected and came with a little tube of gasket sealer so you don’t have to buy a 13$ tube - it was a tight fit to get into the impeller housing - I used a latex glove over the ceramic and then a wooden dowel that I had sitting around to tap it in with a hammer. First thing I’ve ever installed on the pool that didn’t leak.

Should provide instructions of where and where not to use the grease.

I didn't notice whether it was cracked before or whether the main seal is slightly too large and caused the crack in the old plastic and age degraded pump plate bracket (back of pump housing). So I took off a star. Basically I installed the kit, it leaked worse than before, took it apart and found the crack. Pounding in the seal was not easy, i.e. it was a tight fit. Ordered new OEM "plate bracket" and because I am paranoid the Polaris OEM seals.

Had to replace the motor and housing, so decided to replace the innerds as well. Would have been helpful if there was an instruction sheet with this package. Came across the package of (silicone?) grease AFTER everything was put together, & not sure what to do with it.
