OtterBoxDefender Series Case for HTC One M9 - Retail Packaging - Black (Black/Black)

There were some rudimentary directions. This is why I posted so many pictures. Hopefully, they will show the process a little bit better.The case feels and looks very rugged. The dust cover for the screen is a little annoying as it clicks against the screen. But it does look like it could be taken out fairly easily. I do have an impact protective screen cover installed as well. since the dust cover would not be protective for impacts.The surface is textured so that it stays put when you put it down and does not slide around. It feels good in the hand.I really like the layered approach this phone case has.I recommend this product and I would buy it again if I had need of another case.ADDITION TO REVIEW:That dust screen caused a terrible glare across the screen making it extremely difficult to read the map of my GPS app. So I removed the dust screen. It came out with little effort. It is glued in and with some patient pressure I was able to overcome the seal. Now I really like this protective case. No more clicking! That was driving me nutz!

This is a great case as it is not too bulky or too brittle. My first otter case I paid $50 for and that was money well spent. I have had my phone so long that this is my second otter case for this phone. My phone is 5 years old or more and still looks like I just pulled it out of the box! I only purchased a new one since the rubber/silicone cover begins to soften after a couple of years. Otterbox gaurantees the plastic case for one year from purchase date and their customer service in the past was GREAT! I work in construction and this case takes a beating.Negative, the plastic screen protector does not cover the area of the speaker and microphone so in dusty conditions (construction sites) it will get dust between the screen and protector and require some occasional dismantling for cleaning.

This case has definitely saved my phone -- I literally drop it by accident every single day. The large rubberized case also is great for propping up the phone if you're watching something on the phone.HOWEVER, man oh man that built in screen cover has glare on it. I turn my brightness up all the way if i'm outside, and can still barely see whats on screen unless I get in the shade. I wish there was a way to do the outside of the case to protect the phone itself, while leaving off the screen cover and letting me see the great HTC screen.

Nice and sturdy case, has been working great so far, even though it is a bit bulky, it's worth it - protection is great, especially on the back and on the corners of the phone. Plastic screen gets messy, and sometimes does not relay input as well as it should, especially if you are driving with a mounted phone, and trying to access certain functions. That's the only place where this case lacks, but i'm still giving it 5 stars - where most battery cable protectors/ flaps(?) tend to fail and fall off overtime, this one has remained stubbornly rigid, and does not show any signs of wear and tear, despite being opened and closed at least few times daily. Will definitely buy this product for my future phones - currently I'm using HTC 9

The case works fine, but as others have said, the built in screen protector adds an annoyance when doing things like typing.If only this thing had come a day sooner, It would have saved my phone from a fall to the Pavement and major housing damage.On the plus side, the M9 still works after being ran over by a car WITHOUT THIS CASE.. beastly phone. I wish that Amazon used USPS, then it would still be traveling during the weekend and I could have recurved it the day before the fall....Typing is very annoying with this case on though....

Decent case, but glad I only paid $10 for it. Everything about it is pretty decent and it doesn't cause me to get a weak signal or lose my 4g so that is good. The screen protector is complete crap though so I simply ripped it out. Mostly it just gets in the way and makes my touch screen less responsive. The only good screen protector I have seen is on a super bulky case that is mostly metal and turns my reception to garbage. I wish otter box would get together with the company that made my other case and combine the two. That would be awesome.

The cassee keeps. Your phone safe enough but it also makes it so that using your pho e is a chore and near impossible. I can't even type properly anymore because I can't push. Anything easily. I decided to leave. Aaalll of the typos I'm getting while typing on this post just to show how much it messes up... But it's worse than. What you're seeing, my phone keels correcting it. I usually don't have any typos at all when I type.It's not just typing either. I'll have problems with opening appdd because it'll open the wrong app or pull up a setting menu or something else random. Playing games? Forget about it. One handed typing? Not really, need. To use too mucccj pressure so you have to hold the phone. Oh, and things on the edge of your screen are near impossible for you to interact with the. On that last sentence, I didn't type "for you" or "the", my phone just decided to tthroee those words in there's. And gotta love all the stuttering tapdd that are apparently happening ND causing duplicate letters. And it ldo liked to miss the letter A.Ive been using this case for a couple weeks hoping I would get used to it, but ittt just sucks. I'm going to stick with commuter instead of defender from now on.

I have been looking for this case for my husband for over a year. His phone is an older phone but in great condition, mainly due to purchasing this case when he first bought the phone. I finally saw this on Amazon and was hoping it was the same thing and it was. This case has preserved my husband's phone for over 3 years and he is a construction worker which is saying a lot as to the abuse his phone takes. So glad to have found this and the price was amazing.
