THIS IS THE 'ALWAYS-ON' VERSION, NOT the 'dusk-to-dawn' sensor version, despite what some of the reviews say. I suppose at one time they were selling both versions on this same webpage, hence some of the reviews mention a sensor. The company that makes these (Jasco) does also make a sensor version that looks exactly the same … but now it sells on a separate webpage here elsewhere on Amazon.Take note these are GUIDE lights, not night lights, per se. The purpose of these lights – and how I use them -- is to offer-up some definition & guidance regarding where the walls are in an unlit room, stairwell, hallway at night. Not to actually illuminate an area. For that application, they are plenty bright enough, not too bright, and I would even be OK with them if they were somewhat less bright than they are.These are an excellent replacement for the old-school amber/orange dot guide lights that have been around forever. Those are not LEDs, so their light is not nearly as homogeneous or as bright as these Jasco warm white dots are. And these are much more inexpensive that the hard-to-even-find old-school amber/orange dots.I prefer this 'always-on' version. I don't want to have to rely upon the accuracy of a sensor always 'knowing' exactly when I would want the light to be lit … and not lit. And it only cost maybe $0.50/year to run one of these always-on anyway.Jasco makes various small electronics products, including products branded as GE, Philips, Honeywell & Energizer. My guess is that Jasco has to meet a much, much higher standard of quality … in order to retain its ability to license all those brand names … than do all the no-name Chinese brands here on Amazon. Many of whom don't even provide full product specifications. In that sense, these Jasco products are a better bet than most. I have two Jasco/GE power strip suppressor products in my home and they are designed well, have excellent specifications and seem to be performing as they should.About the only shortcoming, IMHO, is that I wish they would offer these also in colors even easier and more soothing on the eyes … such as the traditional amber/orange color … or, even better yet, the calming blue that you see used to illuminate buttons (and activity lights and such) on so many electronic devices these days. That's the one-star ding.

This is a simple product for use as a "guide" light without too much light to disturb sleepers who are sensitive to light. It's also very simple, no motion detection needed as it's a very low lumen led device.

Great little light for the price. We got it to put in a bathroom with no windows. Serves it purpose. The review asked if it motion detecting it is not. It's more of a glow very nice to to eliminate the room a little.

I want nightlights that are bright enough to show the way down the hallway, but not bright enough to light up the hallway. These nightlight are just right for that. Also, they have a warm slightly yellow color, which is much better than nightlights with a blue hue.

Too bright for me

soft illumination for steps. Also use one near a keyhole that is hard to see at night.

So I saw reviews that said it stays off during the day - which is why I got a 2 pack - but they are always on. Idk if this would bother most people but it definitely bothers me to see lights on during the daytime, also sucking up energy for no reason whatsoever, even if minimal.I thought these would be good to illuminate my counters at night and while they do to a degree, not what I was looking for. So, I ended up switching another set I have and using these to light above my pets' feeding area.Look: Very minimal, pleasant, inconspicuous, and for me the warm white wasn't overbearing.Function: Perfect fit - only cover 1 socket. **Always on** meh.Light Cast: Better for areas that you'd just need a guide for at night (bathroom, staircase, hallway)
