SmartCat Ultimate Scratching Post- Gray, Large (32-Inch)

I bought this 3 or 4 years ago, after reading many reviews online - and having gone through numerous much cheaper options on such a regular basis that the costs were mounting! I am writing this review so many years on because both posts have now had plenty of time to rot/shed/come apart after much battering and pulling and scratching (on the part of the cat, not me - albeit I have felt like using it on many occasions!). Both scratching posts still look like new. I hoover around the bases regularly, but what I am hoovering is dust and cat dander, rather than bits of scratching post - and if there are any bits, they are minimal. I cannot believe the difference in quality. They are tall - which means that my large (not fat) tabby cat of 14 years of age can still stretch fully onto it, whilst standing back a little from the post-base. He loves them. I love them. What is not to love?! Buy one - or two - you really won't regret it. You will make the extra money spent on them within a fairly short period if, like me, you were having to replace shoddy alternatives on a regular basis. Well done, whoever designed them.

A brilliant find !! I had been searching a while for one that suited a bigger breed of cat.After constantly replacing my old scratcher . . . Which in fairness, it did do the job (( saving the furniture )) but it never lasted long at all and it would tip over. So it had to be wedged. It just wasn't suitable for my boy.I have had this one for very nearly a year and it still looks great. He uses it alot, you wouldn't be able to tell how much he uses it by looking at it. Not only better for him, but it is also aesthetically pleasing and easy to put together.Happy all round !! Definitely worth the money !! 😻

The cat scratcher was easy to assemble - and looks nice and is of a very good height. The cats (8 of them!) all uses the cat scratcher and the youngest two like to climb up and sit on the top. It looks still in perfect condition since I bought it a couple of months ago.

Quality product. Solid cat scratcher with a heavy base. Our cats love using it which hopefully reduces their need to scratch were they shouldn't.

This product is very easy to assemble, is very sturdy and very well made ( I wouldn't expect anything less for almost £50 on a cat scratching post though!!) unfortunately, my 14year old cat doesn't entertain it much, that's why my review lost a star.

Enticed the cat to scratch by laying the post on one side and applying plenty of catnip on one side! Poppy loves not only scratching but sitting on top of the post to watch the world go by through our patio doors.We’ve also kept the polystyrene packaging topper until we can source a wider top piece to add for Poppy to sleep on/ survey his cat kingdom from!Well worth the money!If the wooden top piece was an inch wider all round it would be a perfect kitty perch!

My cats love this scratching post. They can fully stretch while they do it. It is so sturdy. There is actually space for all 3 of them to do it at once. We have had it for a while now and it still looks brand new. Other scratching posts would all ready began shedding or unraveling.

Having tried cheaper cat scratching posts only to have them ignored I was beginning to think these might be a bit of a waste of time and that my poor curtains would just have to live with being abused.Happily I invested in this product and it is the first item that the cat has naturally gone for, I would say if you have not had luck with the cheaper variants try this one out, maybe it will do the trick for you.
