    good strings

*by C***H on Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2020*

Issues: I have used these in the past for D tuning, they work good, as for the brightness and volume, 5/10, they are a bit dull (expected). The F string (D-G-C-F-A-D from thickest to thinnest) sounds funny and it says on the package the coating helps sustain, it doesn't, these strings don't sustain very well no matter what you do/what effects you use.Pros. They last a hell of a long time. I had my last set on for a year and a half and didn't see any signs of rust, marks, or wear.Notes: The F string seems a little too thick to be just straight wire, I wonder how it would sound if they used a coiled string.another thing is the string tension, you have to wind it very slow and stretch the strings more than you would have to with normal strings if you don't id expect damage, make sure you bend the strings like you would bend a note most importantly the 56 guage.

Amazing product! But be prepared to do a little bit of modifications to your guitar.

*by J***I on Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2018*

These strings are amazing! They do exactly what they say they will do. They deliver drop drop tuned strings with the same balanced tension that you get when you tune your guitar to standard. That being said I think that those who like to play in drop tuning should know a few things before they buy these strings. First of all be prepared to make some modifications to your guitar. The first thing that you are going to need to do is increase your action a little bit. The second thing that you will need to do is open up your guitar nut to accommodate the width of the strings. When I did that to my new guitar I found that it dropped the strings down too low and they were falling on to the frets. I found a simple solution but it took a little bit of brainstorming to come up with. I added a small amount of built-up electric tape underneath the string where it passes through the guitar nut. This actually worked out great since electrical tape works well on wire. Down the line I may replace the guitar nut with one that is made to accommodate these strings and maintain the normal action of the guitar. Lastly the sixth string which is a 70 gauge string is too large to pass through the tuning pegs of your guitar so you will need to team out this tuning peg just slightly so string can pass through it without you trying to kill your fingers to get it to go through and have a little bit of play when you wind your strings. All that considered however I would highly recommend these to anyone that plays in a dropped tuning on a regular basis. 5 stars!

Classic lighter top/heavy bottom strings- can't go wrong!

*by G***E on Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2015*

I'm coming to these from the old GHS Boomers (.010 - .060 "Zakk Wylde" styles). These have the similar "light top-heavy bottom" style. They feel almost identical, but they appear to need a little bit more of warming up/wearing in before they're bendable enough for me; still feel a little stiff after an hour or two of playing. They sound great. Absolutely no complaints. And I never had a problem with my older strings getting rusty our caked with anything (I change out often when I am playing), but was looking for something different. We'll see how this album's progress goes with these strings, and I'll get back to them.I'd heard of these thanks to Ryan "Fluff" Bruce in YouTube, and was definitely impressed by how well he and Rob Scallon preached about these; not to mention the salt water test sir Fluff conducted.
