ok item but you will need the right wattage bulb in order for lght to work properly
So I purchased two of these items. I never read the reviews before I purchased this item, until right now. I looked at other peoples reviews to see what their problems were. My problem is with the clamp, it does not stay in place on a thin glass surface. The one I have in my bedroom is on my metal headboard which is about an inch thick. It does work better clamped to a thicker surface. Although a thicker surface is ideal, I still needed to put nonslip rubber pieces in between surfaces and clamp to secure. So one thing I need to point out right from the start is: if you do not have the right wattage bulb in the light it will possibly not work properly. If you have a wattage that is too high light will heat up to extreme temperatures. PWhen I originally received the item I had the right wattage bulb in, once it burned out I put a different wattage bulb in and light switch no longer functioned. Once I put the right wattage in it did work the way it is supposed too. Some of the reviews said that the coil that bends is not sturdy. I did experience this with the first one I purchased that is in my bedroom, it's not horrible but it does seem weak when at a lower level. The second one I purchased does not have any issues with the metal coil part. I didn't find much else that was wrong with item. Some customers did complain about the actual on off switch which is awkward, but I've had no problems turning it on or off; I don't know if those people have weaker fingers, arthritis or or maybe their hands are big. I would recommend this light. If it's in the $16 range, I would wait till it goes down in price. The first one I bought was really cheap, the second one was about the same. When I looked at item to buy now it was 16 or $17. The price had increased by at least five or six dollars, now it's back down to $13.

Yikes! 'they' are way too proud of this product if you go by the price. It's good tho...
I paid US$11.57 each for 3 of them in 2014. I came back for more but refuse to pay 27.xx per unit. It's an excellent product for 12.00 a copy. I have one I switch on & off every day for years and the switch is still tight. The clamp is metal, it's not huge but it has not broken because it was looked at funny. The goose necks never meet my standards but theese came close and I always manage to be able to let go and see what I need to with two hands free. "Sherman set the wayback machine for 2014."

Great Like For Vanities
I purchased this lamp in order to replace the lamp I had sitting on top of my vanity. Having a limited amount of surface space & always needing more room for cosmetics I decided to go with something that I wouldn't have to sit on top of my vanity itself. I clipped this to the side of my mirror & it works brilliantly. I feel like the clip itself is very secure, it has quite a stout spring which enables it to hold on to the mirror very securely. The switch is much more convenient than the one on my previous lamp (on the cord) as it would fall behind my vanity, this one is located at the back of the lamp base, so it is very easily accessible. The lamp is also very flexible, which is great, it's easy to angle in the just the right position to have light on my face while putting on makeup, which is just what I needed. Really, the only downside to this product is how hot the metal gets after being turned on for a short amount of time, it's really to be expected, it just makes it a pain to move if I need to re-position the head for some reason.

Very flexible, clamps tight and works great
I bought this to replace my other flexible lamp that lost it's flex and became bonded with gravity.:-)My lighting in my computer room isn't all that great and I needed a light that hooked onto my desk to angle out to shine directly on what I was working on.I read other reviews on this lamp after I ordered it and some had said they had problems with the flexible neck drooping down too, so I was a bit worried when I got this. But so far it works great and it's very flexible and stays right where I set it at. Everything is still working well, the on/off switch is still working and the light bulb hasn't shorted out, and the clamp is extremely strong and hooks on very well. So in other words, I have no complaints right now. I've only had this a little over a month, but the last one I bought (different brand) was only in use less than that before everything started falling apart on it, so I'm happy this brand is doing much better. So far so good. Hope it lasts as long as my previous ones I had in the past that lasted 15 years.

Good value for the money
The light works well and has plenty of versatility from the clip. We use it in the kitchen over a darkened part of the cabinet underlay where my wife likes to use her cutting board. Because it can easily be moved and positioned where she wants to shine the light, and this without having to move the foundation (like say a lamp without the clip), it's a great advantage to have. I also like the on off switch. I know it might sound funny to state here, but how many times have we all bought lights like this in the past, where the switch has been a pain in the you know what to actually put on and off. This one snaps to it and hasn't loosened or stuck so far. Good piece for the money and I don't mind referring it to anyone who is looking for a manageable way to lighten a space a regular light outlet or lamp couldn't reach.

Neck could be a little stronger
I bought this nice little lamp as a replacement for my previously broken clip-lamp.This lamp serves the job as a lamp thus far and seems to be of somewhat sturdy build. "Somewhat sturdy" means it won't fall apart by itself in a week but it isn't strong enough to be taking drops or other abuse (but then again, what lamp is?). The clamp/clip is fairly strong, I'm currently hanging my lamp sideways (on a shelf) and it doesn't seem to be slipping at all.My only complaint is the neck strength. The neck won't stay perfectly straight when i hang it sideways. It droops down an inch or so towards the table but not anymore. It is strong enough to not totally fall over when hung sideways but it isn't the strongest. I also wish the hood (the part that covers the lightbulb) was a little longer because my fluorescent lightbulb sticks out slightly past the frame (not too much of a problem though).
