Race Tech201-672757 Shock Spring 5.7Kg

Put on my DRZ 400. I am 205 lbs and 5'8". Have 1.5" lowering links on the bike. Adjusted the preload to little less than 10in spring length to get my sag to 3.8 in. So much better off road now. Not bottoming out, can touch the ground with balls of feet not tippy toes. Worth the money if not doing anything else with suspension imo.

Spring rate is perfect for a 180lb rider with 40lbs of bags on a DRZ400s. Even after taking my saddle bags off I was able to step down my preload and the spring rate still felt spot on. I ride aggressively with bags on and this spring helped improve the stability greatly. Loaded down you can easily get a few feet of air and flat land without fully bottoming out.

The difference between the stock spring (5.5) and this spring (5.7) is night and day. At 180lbs without gear the stock spring on my drz400 was inadequate and compressed all of the time. With the 5.7 the rear end of the drz feels great like a high end full suspension mountain bike, better control, comfort and when I throttle the engine the front lifts up easier instead of with the old spring where the rear end would compress/sag. I should have bought and installed this spring years ago.Installation wasn't that difficult, search around on the popular moto sites and you will find instructions on how to swap out springs without taking apart the whole rear end.

Definitely an improvement on my DRZ400s! The stock springs feel like they're meant for someone around 165lb, and I'm 185lb and ride two-up pretty often so this helps a lot!

with Race tech they make it simple for the Do it yourself types . Their website has a program that will find the right springs for your bike . I took their recommendations and am giddy about the result . it was perfect and didn't pay too much either .
