TheraSIP Swallowing Trainer Kit Developed by Kathleen Smead, this is a unique new system for dealing with swallowing difficulties. It is the only tool that uses resistance exercise and also acts as an incentive device. As a bedside tool it measures the number of practiced swallows during treatment and the strength of the suck. The carefully engineered micro-sized resistance straws with varying interior diameters are then used in training that strengthens the swallow while acting as an incentive device. It can be taken home for practice between treatment sessions and clients can easily track the number of practice swallows and size of liquid managed. One per client.
