Easier than an electric egg poacher
I love a poached egg now and then, but the time involved heating, oiling, and cleaning a conventional egg poacher makes it less convenient than it should be. I saw similar silicone shells at Bed Bath & Beyond and never got one, so when I needed an inexpensive item to get free shipping from Amazon I got this one. It does the job just fine, although you need to be pretty accurate with your timing to insure a poached, rather than hard-cooked egg. I have begun cooking the egg for the minimum time and then popping the shell into the microwave for a few seconds to finish.Cleanup is very easy with these shells, and storage is much simpler than with a large poacher. For one or two eggs, this is the way to go.

Takes 20 minutes to poach eggs!!!
I was impressed by all the great reviews and was super excited to try these. I love poached eggs and have used the vinegar in boiling water method until these. However, super disappointed as my eggs sat in these poachers in boiling water and it took around 20 minutes for them to get cooked enough to slide them out. I just didn't expect it to take so long, considering poached eggs usually cook in boiling water for about 3 minutes. Everything was cold by the time the eggs were ready and still feel they could have used a little longer. Sad face.

Perfect Poachers!
I read the reviews on these and the green ones and decided to go with these. So glad I did! It took me a time or two to get the timing right to get the eggs poached perfectly, but now i'm a pro! These make is sooo easy, just follow instructions. I usually lift the lid to check the color or the egg while steaming, so I know when their done. You want the whole thing to go opaque white, as soon as the yolk turns, leave it on a tad longer, then it;s great. If you let it go to long after yolk turns, the yolk will be like a fried egg (hard). I am so happy with these, I am ordering four more sets for friends and family for Christmas and birthday gifts! It seriously took me less than 15 minutes to make eggs Maryland (like eggs benedict but substitute crab for canadian bacon.) Got to say it took about 5 minutes to eat it, it was so delicious! These things are a great invention, and anyone thinking of trying to poach eggs and looking for a poacher, get these!

Finally an easy way to poach eggs!
Eggs Benedict happens to be a favorite of my mother's and mine as well. Going out to order it cost around $30.00 for two people with tax and tip. Expensive for a breakfast in my opinion. I already had a killer recipe for the hollandaise sauce and searched through reviews before deciding on this set. First, it was nice not having the expense of another pan with insert that would be taking up more room. My mother was here for the Holiday so I tried these out for the first time and was amazed how easy it was. I used the stove top water method and the eggs cooked up in 4-5 minutes and slid right out of the holders (sprayed with PAM before adding eggs)and were picture perfect! You must remember to put the lid on the pot while the eggs cook otherwise it will take eons for the eggs to cook. I wonder if that's what happened to another reviewer that said it took 30 minutes, there is no way it takes 30 minutes unless you did something wrong.

Sticky!
I didn't really like this product. The eggs stick to the silicone and, while this could be cured with a little oil, the whole point of poaching an egg is to do it without oil. I just poach my eggs in a bigger pot now and use a little vinegar. I'm glad I didn't shell out too much for these.

These egg poachers work suprisingly well
I bought these as a gift for my step-father and helped him with using them the first time. Wow, they are so easy to use, and to clean. Be sure to float the silicone poachers with an egg in each, on simmering water (bring the water to a boil, then reduce it to a simmer before cooking). Cover the pot with a fairly tight fitting lid while cooking. Check the eggs after about three minutes, if the white is firm, and the yolk still soft, lift them out (bare fingers might do it as the silicone doesn't conduct heat above the water well, but I used a large slotted spoon). Separating the eggs from the silicone was easy with a large spoon allowing each egg to rest on a large piece of toast. Perfect eggs!

Eggcited About Eggs Again
Count me in as a fan of these cute little poachers! I had fond memories of poached eggs at Grandma's house, but never made them because of the hassle. However, these poaching cups make it easy peasy! What I like best is how the notched edges allow the steam to condense into the cup, making the eggs a teeny bit watery as a poached egg should be. I line the cups with a little butter or coconut oil, and find five minutes to be the best cooking time. Then I slide them into a bowl, sprinkle with a little sea salt and top with couple grates of cheddar goat cheese. Mmm, Mmm, Mmm.

Eggxactly What I Needed
I bought two sets of these and am planning to buy more as stocking stuffers and gifts for friends. I use just the smallest amount of butter to line the poacher before adding the egg and steaming. The top of these poachers keeps them level while still allowing steam exchange when I put the lid on the pan. I serve the egg right in the cute poacher (usually with a napkin underneath to absorb any water). Clean up is easy - a little more scrubbing is involved if you don't use butter or oil when you cook. Bon Apetit.

Is there any point
I thought when i got some of these that they would be excellent especially as I could buy a grabber claw to pick them back out with (bit more fun than burning my fingers). But to be honest they really are rubbish. Unless I had missed the point of how to use them, I dont think they cooked the eggs particularly well when comapred to just putting the egg into the pan and they seemed to collect water if you put a reasonable sized egg into them. They have since sat in the cupboard and collected dust. The only good thing about them is that you dont get the really horrible looking egg scud foaming on top of the water when you cook in them.If you want them please give me an email and ill post them to you for postage costs!!
