This jam has such a natural taste it's proper jam packed with fruit and free of all the sugar you get from shop bought jams. It is darker in colour than I've seen before however I would think that's because it's free from artificial colouring. It spreads really well and you only need to use it sparingly as it has such a great taste so you don't need as much to get the full flavour. I am totally hooked on this jam, yes it's a tad more expensive than I'd normally buy but definitely worth it on taste alone. I'd definitely buy this again

Of the FruitTree products I have tried so far this is the most disappointing. Having said that, I have had great experiences with other jams in this range and this strawberry version isn't at all bad, it is a perfectly decent spread but not quite up to the standard of others.The jam comes in a jar which is about two thirds the size of a standard jar of jam or marmalade so do be aware of the size before you purchase. As this product is made in a different way than standard sugar-and-pectin jams, this spread is smoother, more like a puree than a jam, or like a strained compote. The texture may not be to everyone's taste. I don't mind it at all, as I like to eat jam on crunchy toast so don't need much texture from the jam itself.The jam is sweetened with apple and blackcurrant juices and the blackcurrant must be what gives this particular spread its dark colour: it is much darker and less vibrant than one might expect from strawberry jam. The flavour of the jam is fine, but is not anywhere near as intense as I would like it to be, it needs a much stronger kick of berry flavour!Having said that, I have found this is a good jam for use in porridge: the texture and the low level of sweetness work well in a creamy bowl of oatmeal, so I will be using this primarily for that, and saving the other FruitTree jams for toast and butter.

The very first comment I was going to make when I opened the jar was that it is more akin in texture to a fruit spread than a fruit jam. Then I noticed the description and found that's exactly what it is - a fruit spread! It has quite a runny consistency (which isn't surprising, given that there is no pectin) and so spreading it on thickly is not really an option, unless you want to make a complete mess. Having said that, given the current selling price (£9.08 for a reasonably small jar), it's one of those things that should be used sparingly.The spread is quite tart and bitter but I guess this is to be expected, given there is no added sugar, unlike normal jam. However, it is quite refreshing and creates an explosion of flavours when coupled with something sweeter, like cream. Whilst there are quite a lot of natural sugars in fruit, the lack of any added sugar might make this ideal for anymore who is looking to reduce their sugar intake, with the added benefit being that you ultimately get more fruit in the jar.Overall, it is very tasty, but don't expect it to have the same taste, sweetness and consistency as a regular store bought jam.

Organic snd free from sugar, just natural.pieces fruit. Great test , love it!

This didn't really taste like much, very weak flavour, and was more like a baby puree sort of texture. Very disappointed.

I've loved Jam since I was very young. Now much older I've avoided it for years after becoming very aware of the huge amounts of refined sugar that go into the manufacture of the most popular brands, and I'm sure most people now know that there's very little good about refined sugar and a whole load of "bad".This organic Strawberry Jam by Fruit Tree contains only the natural sugar from the fruit,as well as Strawberries, 28 of them, there's also a slice of Apple and a splash of both Apple and Blackcurrant juice. That's the ingredients in their entirety,no additives of any kind.By way of comparison I checked the ingredients of a jar of Jam from a best-selling and very well-known brand. With the Organic jam 100g of Strawberries makes 100g of Jam, the household name brand has 45g of Strawberries and 61g of Sugar to make the same amount and also contains Glucose-Fructose Syrup,Pectin and Citric Acid, doesn't sound particularly mouth-watering does it?Just as important when making your choice, if you still insist on considering the unhealthy option,is the taste. The Organic Jam isn't as sweet as the "regular" variety and has a slightly tart tang to it,as someone who has outgrown his sweet tooth I much prefer this. The Jam is a bit runnier than regular Jam,I suspect because it doesn't contain Pectin,which is a gelling agent, Basically that makes it easier to spread. I first tried it in Ciabatta rolls with no spread so I got the full flavour of the Jam and it's very,very nice. If you like your jam sweet it may not be for you.The Jam isn't cheap at £5.59 for a 250g jar but it's cooked slowly in small batches,not churned out by the gallon in vast vats like the regular product......and more importantly it's massively healthier.

For £9.09 this is way too expensive for what you get.A little watery in consistency to what I would have liked.Flavour is nice enough but nothing exceptional.
