Great addition to two-player game collections
I have a fondness for quick 2-player games. Kahuna definitely hits a sweet spot for me. It's quick to set up and take down, and doesn't take up too much space either on the table or on the shelf. It's easy to teach with simple but elegant rules. The object of the game is to claim islands by building the majority of the bridges to the islands. Your control over an island can be lost when your opponent claims an adjacent island, which can often cause a chain reaction. The game plays quickly - there isn't much room for analysis paralysis here. There can be but most of the time, either opponent is likely eager to see what the next move will be so turns move quickly. Competition is rather intense. Once you lose majority over an island, you quickly strategize on how to either exact revenge by removing your opponent's claim on islands or securing your own claim on either islands. I've found, however, that once I start losing claim, I never can really recover (I may just not be good at this game)Overall, it's definitely a great addition for collector's of two player games.

Fun, easy-to-learn game that teaches strategy
My 10-yo daughter and I are both avid gamers; my wife, not so much. Daughter and I enjoy lots of games together that 2 can play - Monopoly, Skip Bo, Set, Battleship, and the like - and we "make do" with other games (like Munchkin) where we use stuffed animals as other players (and play FOR them, natch). I was looking for a good strategy game for ONLY two and happened upon this over the holidays. It's a deceptively simple game: play cards to build (or destroy) bridges between islands, with three scoring rounds; generally, the person who controls the most islands at the end of the game is the winner. LOTS of strategy involved, though, so the game is a good teacher for more advanced things like Axis & Allies. Overall it's quite fun and addictive, with each game taking around 30 - 40 minutes. I like the size, also: as a "square-box" game, it's about half the size of Trivial Pursuit or Catan, which makes it rather easy to transport.

Fun and easy to learn
I bought this and another game from the same maker for my boyfriend and I to have time together away from the screens. It is easy to learn and play and pretty entertaining. I gave it only 4 stars because I've become a little bored of playing it and I'm not really bored of the other one (lost cities). My boyfriend isn't bored of either. We've since picked up a couple more 2 player games because this really got us into the whole board game idea.

Must Have for 1v1 strategy board gamers!!!
This is one of the most uniquely designed and well thought through games I’ve played yet! SIMPLE gameplay but DEEPLY strategic!Gameplay gets quite heated as you realize your HUGE move may actually destabilize your entire strategy! Haha! Sweat & Stress scale is a 3.5/5 for me. (Netrunner being a 5/5 in my book)4.5/5 in my book! Endless replay! Must have!

Fun and interesting little game
This is a different kind of game. It's small and relatively simple. Good for two people. You build bridges and try and take over islands. When you have a majority of bridges on the island, you can place your kahuna there, which takes off all the other person's bridges. You try and control as many islands as possible. This game is different and pretty fun. Probably my biggest issue with it is that once you are behind it gets really hard to catch up. Still, the game isn't that long so you don't feel terrible when you lose.

Perfect 2-player game
Kahuna was my best find this year in games. As a 2-player game, it is succinct, easy to learn, and plays on a strategy that is unique. One move can undo another player's advantage. The game plays out in less than 30 minutes, so it is a perfect game to play while dinner is in the oven.

Great Two Player Game
I like it for its play, the small package, and short gameplay. We bring this with us when we know we'll be waiting 30 minutes or so for something, and it's a good way to spend time. It's sort of like Catan, but just enough different to be a nice game upon itself.

Meh
It wasn’t as fun as we thought it would be, but of a let down.

One of the best 2 person games ever...
This is a reasonably short game to play involving only 2 people. It's fun, the rules are very easy to learn and the variation in the game is enough to keep you coming back again and again. Simply one of the best 2 person games I've ever played.

Schönes Spiel für 2 Personen
Recht einfach zu verstehen und es macht Spaß sich gegenseitig zu "battlen". Schönes Spiel für 2 Personen.
