Two KleenWater (USA) Carbon Filters Compatible With GE FXSVC and GXSV10C, GXSL03C and GNSL05CBL SmartWater Dual Stage Water Filtration Systems, Includes 2 o-rings

I purchased these filters from Pavel Water Filtration (thru Amazon), Kleen Water KW2510LR (blue cap/1 micron) and KW2510CB (white cap/5 micron) for my GE GXSL03C undersink dual stage water filter. I purchased these for $33.95 and they arrived within 5 days by USPS (shipped to Texas from MA). I had been purchasing the GE FXSVC water filters previously to refill this GE water filter but decided to save about $16 (approx. $50 for both at Home Depot) and try these. These filters came in one box together with 2 nitrile O-rings to replace the ones in each of the water filter housings. Both of the Kleen Water filters come with a label stating they are carbon block filters and the KW2510CB has a service a service life listed as one year or 6,000 gallons. The KB2510LR states it will reduce chlorine for 6,500 gallons and reduce lead for 2,500 gallons. Both filters fit in my GE GXSL03C water filter, although both filter's caps were somewhat larger in diameter than the GE FXSVC filters. Both filters fit into their respective housings appropriately. There were no instructions with these filters (a toll free number was provided on the labels) as to how to install or which filter goes into which stage (housing) of the filter housing. After researching, the white cap filter is placed into the stage 1 housing and the blue cap filter is placed into the stage 2 housing. After installing each filter in the correct housing and replacing the housing, it took approximately 7 minutes to flush most of the air out of the system by allowing the water to run continuously from the dispenser. I will allow the system to run for another 3-5 minutes to remove any residual air or carbon debris. There were no problems with leaks or fit with these filters and the water does run much faster than the GE filters I replaced (probably due to them being dirty). Filters seem to be quality filters with very good water flow. Both filter labels say they were made in the U.S.A.A couple of suggestions when replacing these filters: make sure water has been turned off to the filter system; lubricate the O-rings with FDA grade silicone grease when replacing (not included); wash housings prior to filter replacement with hot, soapy water; let water supply run for 10-15 minutes after replacing filters.

I bought these to replace the OEM filters on my GE GXSV10C dual stage water filter. I was shocked at the price of the GE filter cartridges and thought I would give these a whirl as they were about 50% less. I'm always skeptical about purchasing non-OEM replacement parts because they are often slightly different such that they don't fit right or some other nuisance problem. I'm pleased to report these ones worked out OK. As I suspected, they are a slightly different design than the GE filters but they fit OK. I did have to tighten the filter canister covers down quite a bit for it to seal properly but I don't think I was at risk of breaking anything, as one reviewer pointed out. One thing that bothered me was the installation of the new O-rings requires an FDA approved food grade silicone lubricant, which is not included. You literally need only a tiny dab and of course, you can only buy it in big cans. I wish the company would include a little packet, even if they had to up the price a couple bucks. I actually opted to forgo the lubrication which I hope I don't end up regretting. Once I got the new filters installed, the system worked great after flushing all the air out. The flow is decent, the water tastes great, and I'm super happy about saving $35.

My evaluation may be a little premature in that I have not as yet been able to hook up my new filter as I had to change the housing. Since this filters 1000 gallons, it handles nearly twice the volume of the of other filters, but I’d not twice the price! I would typically like to be able to evaluate the flavor, but right now I’m waiting for parts since I change the housing.

This an update! I have used these filters for one year! Overall I like them! Flow rate is great and the flavor did improve!Will buy more!We have been using the Compatible filters for several weeks now. While the flow rate is much better the water flavor is not as good. I am not sure how to describe it but the previous filters provided a better tasting water than these. I don't taste the chlorine in the water but the overall quality is lacking. Why? Flow rate I think is the key. The old GE filters did a better job because of the reduced flow rate.

I like these filters because the flow rate is very good. I have no way of testing how good the filtration is. So, I have to take the seller's word for that.

The water tasted better and it was time to change the filter. Every 6 months is a good indication to change it.

I bought these for a cheaper alternative for my FXSVC filters in my GE GXSV10C01 system. These do NOT fit like the GE branded filters and I got leaks, they were unusable. I almost broke my filter system by over tightening to try and get a seal.The seller was nice enough to give me a refund, but these did NOT work in my GE system and I've changed filters over 20 times over the years.

I had never, in 8 years, replaced to O-rings, made installation easier and no leaks! Water tastes great, and flows faster than old filters from those box stores!
