Quite possible I got a bad one, but the type of locking collar used to keep the handle extended generally isn't something that lasts very long. Within about 15 minutes of use the handle no longer would lock in place making the rake near useless. I give the 3 stars because it wasn't a total failure and was actually a good rake while it did last. Seems to have been lubricated with graphite or another dry lubricant as my hand that held the end was good and black after holding it. It can technically still be used but not with the best results. I can still use it for clearing my campsite of rocks before setting up a tent while camping. At least it wasn't a total loss and was useable out of the box. I never buy anything with this type of telescopic pole if it can be avoided, they never last very long.

You get what you pay for. I was hoping this would be a cheap rake I could carry in my pack to clean up remote bike trails. It broke the very first time I used it on the first stroke. The locking ring that secures the handle cracked. If this feature could be toughened it might work ok. It’s a shame. My search for a good collapsible rake will continue.

I purchased this because I had one before I loved. (By a different company.)When the first one came and it couldn't be opened. I returned it, for a replacement of the same item. (Thinking it was a one time fluke.)But the second one is also a piece of crap..It will not open at all, it has sharp parts on it, so when I was trying (unsuccessfully) to open it, I cut my hand open. This is an absolutely worthless extremely poor made and unsafe piece of crap.

This was exactly what I needed for my small garden plot. I live in a 600 sq. ft apartment, to give you an idea, and I wanted to get all the conifer sheddings from a nearby tree out of my garden area. This rake made quick work of all the sheddings on the ground. I was impressed with how thoroughly the ground was cleared out, not due in small parts to the rake's adjustable feature. The only caveat is that it's not particularly sturdy, so I have to be careful going over deep roots and stones. With this in mind, this rake is still intact and unwarped after several uses.

Nice and compact to keep in our camping trailer to rake up sticks, leaves and rocks before putting down our camping mat. I wish the handle lock was a different design instead of just a twist to lock it in (maybe a clamp that you locked down after extending it) as it tends to loosen while raking so makes it a little less sturdy while taking than it could be. And if that plastic ring cracks it is a lot less sturdy (the first one I received was cracked and I had to exchange it but they did quickly send a replacement). Rake tines are nice and sturdy so I don’t expect them to break anytime soon.

I find this rake to be really great. It can be adjusted and set to use anywhere from min to max both for the width of the rake (tines end) and the length of the handle. This makes it great for storage in my small townhouse condo. I don't know how well it would hold up if I needed to rake up a large yard of leaves every week in the fall, but for my purposes, to rake up old mulch and spread out the new in a small strip of land, it worked out really great. I am very pleased with this product especially at its low price and amazingly fast delivery even in these COVID 19 times. I ordered it Friday afternoon and it arrived this (Sunday) morning, two days later. WOW !

The diameter of the handle is too small. The length of the handle is too short. The adjustment for the tine width allows the tines to twist on the handle. Once must take care to hold the tines steady while tightening the adjustment know. The product is marketed as a rake for RVs. As such that implies interment use and I guess that justifies my dimension complaints. At best, this tool is OK. I would not purchase it again.

FEB.2020--I HAVE HAD A COLLAPSIBLE RAKE BEFORE, HOWEVER THERE WAS A LOCK MECHANISM ON THE TELESCOPING HANDLE TO BE ABLE TO LENGTHEN IT, THEN LOCK IT IN PLACE. THIS ONE EXTENDS, BUT YOU CANT KEEP IT THERE. YOU CAN FAN OUT THE RAKE PART OR KEEP IT COMPACT, THE LARGE TURN-NUT KEEPS THEM LOCKED, BUT DOES NOTHING FOR KEEPING THE HANDLE EXTENDED. OTHERWISE THIS WOULD HAVE GOTTEN 5 STARS FROM ME. MAY 2020-- FIVE MOS.LATER--I FIGURED IT OUT AND IT WAS MY LACK OF STRENGTH IN MY HANDS THAT WAS KEEPING THE HANDLE FROM BEING LOCKED AND EXTENDED IN PLACE. I'VE BEEN USING THE RAKE OUT IN MY YARD, AND IT WORKS JUST FINE. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO PICKING UP THE DOG DOO. NARROWED DOWN IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM AND NO TURD ESCAPES BETWEEN THE TINES! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RAKE!!

I had purchased all kind of stuff from CAMCO and been happy so far except for this Rake.Used it two times to rake sand in front of my RV while camping and telescopic handle wont hold anymore.

This rake was fine when we were just using it to rake grass, but as soon as the fall came and the real work started, this rake buckled under the pressure. The whole thing broke in like three different places. What a waste of my hard earned dollars.

Purchased Oct 23 2020 used it last fall to rake some leaves. Tried to use it first time May 2021.The telescopic handle would not lock in the extended position. Tried to rake leaves again Tines fell off see photo. Too late return.

Works well. It is a decent length, and not small likely I initially thought. However, the handle is quite fragile and by the second use had bent enough not to fold down, which makes it large to store (or carry).

The handle did not remain in the extended position after the first use. We are disatisfied with this product. If DID NOT meet with our expectations.
