Even though this remote looks identical to the original Vizio XRT510 remote I need to replace, this one will not pair with the TV. It works as a basic remote through the IR sensor, but it will not pair wirelessly with my 55" Vizio (M501D-A2R) TV which limits its functionality. If I wanted a simple IR remote, I would get a much cheaper universal remote, but I want the full features, which is why I purchased this. But no matter what I tried (power resetting the TV, power resetting the remote, clicking all buttons on the remote with the batteries out, etc, etc... (about the only thing I didn't attempt was trying to pair the remote while standing on my head!)). But alas, I could not get the TV to see/sense the remote on the pairing screen. Even though my old remote will also no longer pair with the TV wirelessly (which is why I need to replace it), it still at least shows it is "ready to pair" when I hold the Record button and Green line button. But even if I hold Record & Green on the new remote for double the time, I get nothing. Therefore, I am returning this remote.By the way, I noticed my old remote will have the keypad lights turn on when I press a button, but this new remote doesn't have the light come on until I release the button. Also, my old original remote has stickers inside with model # and Firmware info. This new remote has nothing inside, which makes me question its authenticity as a "genuine Vizio" remote.

Works perfectly. It does NOT, however, have the keyboard on the back side the way my old XRT500 did (but I never used it anyway, preferring on-screen kbds). lt is, for some strange reason, longer than the old one and runs on AA batteries (the old one, IIRC, used AAA). Good replacement and all smart-tv features work, though I usually use Roku Ultimate for that. Roku is fare superior to any other smart/streaming TV accessory.Disclaimer: I've spent 10 years of my 40 year career programming bleeding-edge video, including the first digital video (with Intel) on PCs, 4k 2160p in 2010 and 8K 4320p in 2014 - both in Shanghai. 4320p has 16 times the resolution of 1080p and has been available in parts of the world for over 5 years. American cable and satellite are STILL limiting us to 1K 1080p and 1080i OTA (except for DirecTV, which only broadcasts 4K for pay sports and pay VOD media. In much of the world, you can't even buy a 1080p set since they've all upgraded years ago. Even the magic of "fiber" became obsolete 16 years ago with most countries turning to private IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) infrastructures - much more bandwith, throughput, and fully 2-way.

When my remote crapped out for my bedroom tv, I needed to replace it. This is the exact remote that came with the TV, so it was a safe play for replacement. Generally, the functionality of the remote with the tv is only average as you have to count on pointing the remote right at the tv and can sometimes have trouble getting response if you are just missing the tv. Still, I knew I could count on getting all of the functionality available on the tv covered with this remote, so I went with the safe play. The price was reasonable.

Just received this Visio TV remote 08/03/20Worked as soon as batteries were installed.Just like the old remote only brand new.We have Model M501d-AR2

This is an "exact" replacement for our original remote that died. Shipping was fast, but we could not get the new remote to work well. I worked only sporadically, and changing batteries had no effect. We have a smaller remote for another TV, and that one controlled the TV perfectly, so it's not the TV. On the plus side, returning the remote was fantastic! I decided to buy one of the smaller remotes, as they are less expensive and seem to work well.

Original remote for my Vizio 55-inch display developed a case of gooey/sticky buttons, but all operating features still worked okay. Searched for and found this replacement remote, added batteries, and it worked just like the original. It is virtually identical to the original, and it does use the standard two AA batteries. Very satisfied with this purchase.

My original remote was acting erratic for nearly two years. It finally died last week. I contacted Vizio and they recommended searching Amazon for the product number inside the battery cover. Of course I found it on Amazon. Now the TV works better than ever and I can access features that I couldn't due to the mediocre performance of the original. 100% satisfied.

The replacement remote sent was exactly as advertised. As it turned out I didn’t really need a new remote. A few minutes with the Vizio tech line got my original remote working i.e. Remove the batteries and press every button on the remote twice. But, the new remote will be ready to take over if ever needed.
