Great old kit from Monogram!
This is a great old Monogram kit that is worth every penny. I have been building WWII plastic airplane kits in 1/48 scale for 37 years. i built this one as a kid and I wanted to add one to my collection to relive the old days. It is perfect for a novice model builder. It has enough detail to satisfy your average modeller even though this is an older kit. Dollar wise it is less than half of the cost of the newer Japanese kits in this scale and a great way to start someone younger into the hobby without dropping a lot of coin. I can highly recomend this kit to any fan of WWII aviation.

Typhoon Treasure
I brought this for my 10 yr old son, who was developing a love affair for computer games and the X - Box and by buying on line from Amazon we could buy it for less than half the retail price in NZ. It arrived in under 10 days and my son loved it- he made it in a day and then spent a few more days painting and applying the decals. It was within his ability and he completed it himself. He is already saving for his next model. It wouldn't be a model that expert or older model makers would make as there are not many intricate parts, but for child starting off it is perfect - detailed enough but with enough simple instructions to follow- and that way they enjoy the satisfaction of creating something wholly on their own

Good buy in a Typhoon kit
Not the greatest kit, but very good for the price. I built this as a custom-made job for a customer, and it was perfect for what she needed. Not as perfect as a Tamiya or Hasegawa, but fine for the price.

Fun to Build
This was a fun and easy little model to build. The decals fit nicely and made it look great. I would recommend to any novice builder or any one just looking to add to their collection.

Be Prepared for "Extra" Work
The Hawker Typhoon is probably one of the best looking planes of World War II, which makes it puzzling to understand why there haven't been many quality kits put out on this beautiful subject. Wanting to add a Typhoon to my collection, I picked this model up at a local hobby store not expecting the level of Tamiya, Hasegawa or Dragon, but at least of passable quality that would fill my collection until I could obtain one of the better kits.First off, this kit was one of the worst I've seen from Monogram/Revell as far as fits are concerned. There were fit issues around the wings and fuselage that ran sporadically down the vertical and horizontal lengths of the plane. For instance, it would fit perfect for about 1" to 1 1/2" and then leave a sizable gap for the next 1" or so. The wing seams were not even close in fit- one wing left a gap between upper and lower pieces and the other wing had too much overlap. Needless to say, to make this model "work", I ended up having to use a lot of Squadron white putty to fill gaps & seams and I spent more time than I would have liked sanding to get an acceptable fit. This ended up being more of a headache than I would have liked just because of the inconsistency of the entire thing. The other negative that I found was the cockpit - it's practically non-existent and the pilot that is included wasn't worth the time to try and detail. I'm not sure if the blame should be placed on the mold and tooling, plastic mix or a combination of both, but the pilot in my set was a mess.On the positive side, this kit has a surprising amount of detail for the bargain level kits. This made it very interesting to finish and detail and holds up very well to the more expensive kits once completed. The final product is very good, but given the amount of work that I had to put into this one that really shouldn't have been necessary, I really didn't think that I got my moneys worth from this one. Sure, most all models have some fit and finish issues and extra prep work required, I've not encountered one that was this bad in my 15+ years of model making. Some of the other reviews were pleased with their models, so I'm hoping that I just got a bad run of this model, but buyer beware just in case.

Great Kit
I bought this kit at Micheal's and it has truly been a delight. All the pieces fit perfectly, so the build was not overly challenging. I built mine with wheels up, and as a warning to anyone else doing this, the landing gear "plates" leave a gap when in the up position. Just thought I would throw that out there. Otherwise, great kit. Definitely recommended.

Brilliant
I don't constrain myself to any particular period or nationality/type when I model. I build what takes my fancy, and this certainly did! An excellent kit, good value, pleasant project, excellent results. Always been a fan of Monogram. I have built a diorama using some Dartmoor metal figures - check them out, they certainly add to a project.

Great model
Still to be made, but the parts all look to be very well detailed - I look forward to making it
