I keep one of these cushions in my car. It helps keep me comfortable in spite of chronic piriformis discomfort. Over decades I have tried many cushions (on the exercise bike, at the dinner table, in the car etc.), and I prefer this one. The one drawback, aside from cost, is that over time they leak and I have just added air when needed.

It looks beautifully made and designed. Obviously a quality item. This batch of neoprene had such a strong smell that I did not blow it up or use it, just returned it. So I do not know how it would perform, but it looked SO well made.

Finally!! 85-year-old dad's Stage 1 pressure wound is starting to heal after a year of sitting on various gel cushions. He refuses to lie down on a bed or anywhere except his recliner, which doesn't go all the way back. And he refuses to lie on his side in the recliner. He sits and sleeps in that chair all day and night, except for meals at the table and short exercise sessions, bath, and toilet. We just could not get that pressure wound well, and it kept developing raw, bleeding spots, tenderness, and itching. But after 6 weeks of sitting on the Roho Low-Profile cushion in his recliner and in his wheelchair at the dining table, we are seeing improvement. It's a great relief. Worth every penny.It took me two tries to get the right amount of air in it. Be sure to read the instructions AND watch the official Roho videos on YouTube to get it right. You don't want too much or too little air. The seated person must sink down till about 1 inch of air cushion remains between the body and the surface of the chair. 85-year-old dad said it was uncomfortable and did not like it, but he's used to it now. Suffer through a little griping from the patient and consider giving this a try if your doctor or nursing service prescribes or recommends a Roho cushion.

I am a nurse and have used rojo's with my patients....recently my mother had a breakdown and i ordered three for the house and car because if skin breaks are not dealt with aggressively they get worse very quickly and can be fatal. rojo's at proper inflation are simply the best. i did order some gels and did not see anything that performed near as well as rojo unless they were same price and gels lose effectiveness over time. rojo's do not wear out!!!! i do not have the time and energy to play around with a "cushion" market that is frequently misleading as to the quality of their products...we used rojo's at our acute rehab because we strived for a zero skin breakdown among a very fragile population...i found the one my mom left the hospital with (4 inch) which she did not like because too high so i saw the lo profile and it is perfect...we would bring it anywhere she would sit for an extended period of time...the breakdown is now healed but we keep one on her kitchen chair, family room chair and in the car...we bring it into the movies, bridge, etc. as the area will remain weak for an extended period of time and possible may be always weak...we added zinc to diet as well (liquid supp drops)...i never write reviews but all those caring for parents etc need to know this...buy rojo and avoid buying new cushions every 6 mo-1 yr that may or may not be effective. This vendor is terrible! They took advantage of a elderly woman wheelchair bound. Ordered this cushion for my Mother-in-Law the first of April. Although my invoice states we received the Roho-Low Profile Cushion we got a the cushion that is 6" high. I have explained this to them in writing numerous times trying to arrange for a return the incorrect cushion and receive the correct size. My mother in law is 4'11" and can even get up in her wheelchair with this large cushion on it. For a last resort, I disputed the charge with my credit card company. The vendor responded to my credit card company in the same way...."I had received what I ordered". Upon advice of my credit card company I am now paying to return this incorrect product to the vendor in order for my credit card company to reverse the charge for me. So now the vendor gets back their incorrect shipment free of charge.

The ROHO cushion is essential for wheelchair users. The problem is that the product doesn't last as long as the warranty period..

He already had one for his wheelchair, and it is excellent. In his recliner, he has a tendency to slide forward a bit. He doesn't slide forward enough for it to be dangerous, or uncomfortable. He just doesn't look like he's sitting up straight.The Roho cushions are the best cushions we've found for pressure sores. We have tried many different types of cushions.

My disabled husband had a pressure sore after being injured and unable to get around. A nurse recommended this cushion and within a week after getting it, his pressure sore was healed. The Roho cushion is designed to distribute weight evenly. I was skeptical if the value was worth the cost, but I'm now a firm believer that it is. With the right care, I'm sure it will last a long time.
