What company made? Is it made in Japan?

Yes, it comes rom Japanese Japan. Shinkousya manufactured it, I think. At least they're the one who imported it. I bought it for my younger cousin. My was painted bright, fire engine red. It looks like the ejection seat handle for a 1950s jet fighter.

How thick the can rim can be? For thick tin commercial cans?

It will cut commercial cans just fine.
