I have had this set for about 4 years and use it all the time. Its a fantastic value. I havent worn out any of the bits and have only broken several cutting disks which are brittle and fragile. Its always been my fault, not the tool. I use the set with the Black and Decker rotary tool which has also been a champ all this while. My advice on both is to first draw what you want to do so that you plan out your cuts, then go slow and be patient with any of the tools and you will be fine. The diamond grinder, ive used it to death on steel and it refuses to wear out. I also bought several titanium and diamond bit sets from this MFR but have yet to use them because this set just goes and goes. Id be lost without it. You can polish, grind, sand, cut steel, stone, ceramic, concrete, anything i suppose. Im currently using the set to drill, cut and polish sea shells for something im making for my girlfriend. Ive used the set to cut and shape wood, like the wooden eating utensils im prototyping. All of the tools work if you are easy on them and patient. I use water spray to cool the tools during cutting or grinding. Nothing in that box is worthless, and there is too much stuff, too. My only complaint, if any, is that it would be helpful if the bit shanks were a little longer because the rotary tool isnt that small and needs to be further away from the work so that I have space but its no big deal. Best $15 I ever spent. Should I need the set again, I just hope they are still around. Oh, one thing if its not been mentioned elsewhere, the number 228 doesnt mean 228 different bits, the number refers to the abundant spares, like cutting disks and sanding wheels, polishing pads. Also counted are the different sizes of bits unto which you would place the cutters, etc, and a tool is also included to mount those cutters. If this is you first set of such tools, get it and check it out well before buying supplementary bits because you just might find everything you need is already there.

WHAT'S INCLUDEDThe box I recieved is about 1 1/2 times wider than the illustration, with more tools and accessories. More, but basically the same variety. Specifically there are 40 "tools" (corresponding to the top two rows). The photo shows two brass wire brushes. In fact the kit comes with NO brass wire brushes, but comes with 3 nylon brushes and 3 steel brushes. I would have prefered more and better brushes. The remaining 188 "accessories" are mostly unmounted cutting disks, sanding disks, sanding drums, grinding wheels, and polishing wheels. Indeed, two sections (on the bottom row) are filled with cutting disks. Three sections are filled with polishing wheels. In addition there is one container of sanding disks, one section of sanding drums, one section of unmounted grinding wheels, and one container of polishing compound.Realistically, there are few tools I did not still have from my old Dremel kit. But what I use most (and was out of) was cutting disk, sanding disks, and sanding drums. The set is a bargain just for those.CONDITIONThe box I recieved was entirely intact. Nothing broken, and all but a few unmounted grinding wheels were in their place.CAVEATNote however, that the sanding disks are small and NOT self-adhesive, and correspondingly there is no tool to hold self-adhesive sanding disks. If you've been spoiled by dremel diamond cutting disks, you may be disappointed by the "ordinary" cutting disks in the kit.SUGGESTIONThe tools often fit tighter into the cylindrical plastic sleeves/inserts than the sleaves fit into the holes in the wooden "shelves". Therefore, when you pull out a "tool", you often get the "tool" and its sleeve. I suggest that when you first get a box that you carefully take out all the "tools", and line them up in order (so you can put them back where they came from). Then pull out the plastic sleaves one at time, and apply a little glue and reinsert them. When the glue is dry, reassemble the box. Ordinary white glue will do.
