Good and bad but mostly good
Installed easily and got my printer to (eventually) work but I had issues resetting up the printer and not sure if it’s b/c of the chip but I’d not had that happen before. The other frustration was the chip was three days late in arriving so I was scrambling for a while. Otherwise, all good and for the price, a smart investment.

$12 for a NEW PRINTER!
Our laser printer, Samsung Xpress C460W began blinking a red light and had the message, “Replace imaging unit” a few months ago. We were sometimes still able to print, but that was sporadic. So, I began researching new color laser printers. What I was told by the Associate at Office Depot was that if it were him, he’d just replace the drum—after ordering a new one from Amazon! Okay! Then, I began researching those. Somehow, I stumbled across a heading similar to the one in my title, so I click on it. It took me to a YouTube video demonstrating a gentleman (non-native American speaker, based on his accent) who explained that there is usually NOTHING WRIONG with the “Imaging Units” (aka, “Drums”). Rather, there’s a small piece, he called a chip, with a solenoid wire that burns out at a pre-set number of prints. It is THAT piece that needs replacing to reset the count and render the printer once again operational. Thus, I ordered that piece—THIS ONE. It came in a week. I opened the package to find the new CHIP and could see TWO new solenoid wires in place on the back. The company sent about 3 small sheets of paper: a thank you note, a sheet promoting other products, and the brief instructions—which was a QR code that took me to a YouTube video of the VERY SAME GENTLEMAN I’d watched to begin with! For me it was just a review! I already knew what to do. The HARDEST think was working the old chip loose to remove it. I recommend a VERY SMALL SLOTTED SCREWDRIVER to press down on the tab far enough to dislodge it from its housing. It then just pops right out! I compared that wire (only one on the old chip) Tom this new one…sure enough, it had melted and bent! Well, I simply pushed the new one in its place, returned the waste container (after emptying—very messy), and the four ink cartridges, closed the door, turned the printer on, then was ELATED to see NO FLASHING RD LIGHT any more & a Ready to print message on the little screen!! Next was “The Test”—to see whether I could print. Well, not only could I print, the print quality was EXCEPTIONAL! There was NOTHING WRONG WITH OUR IMAGING UNIT (Drum)! It’s simply built-in OBSOLESCENCE Thank you, Amazon! Now I have an extra $300-600 to spend on something else!

Eat it, Samsung!!! This little gizmo keeps your printer working just fine
My Samsung C410W wouldn't print. I kept getting an error message saying I needed a new imaging drum for $115 (or at least the off-brand equivalent for about half that price). This happens because the printer is counting the total number of prints made since I bought the printer; and when it hits the magic number, the error message becomes activated. But guess what? there is a good likelihood that when your printer reaches this magic number, the imaging drum is just fine, thank you very much. This little mini-gadget (nothing more than a resister mounted in a plastic mounting) effectively resets the page counter. It's a 5 minute installation procedure. It works. My printer is doing just fine now. Hate it, Samsung!!

Wow! This is a HUGE Money Saver!
This little piece of plastic saved me from buying a new drum. I DID NOT need a new drum. After surfing around i came across this little piece of genius, had no clue it even existed. I followed simple instructions and replaced this tiny inexpensive piece and WAALLAAAH. New Drum!

Didn't work for me
I have a Samsung C410 series printer, replacing the chip didn't work for me. The error light is still on and the printer maintenance portal still gives an alert that I need to replace the imaging unit.

solved my problem just like that.
Wow…I can’t believe that it was so easy to solve this problem without purchasing a whole new imaging unit…awesome!

Easy and affordable fix instead of replacing the imaging unit
Pretty easy to install and saved me from having to replace the drum unit, which was still printing just fine. I’m glad this option is available and was a simple plug and play.

Worked like a charm!
Turned off the printer, inserted the piece at the right place, turned on the printer. 3 steps made the trick to reset the imaging unit count.

Didn't seem to do much to the printer.

Inexpensive Alternative to a new Imaging Drum
Research online certainly paid-off in this instance! I was prepared to place an order for a brand new Imaging Drum for our Samsung CLP-365W Colour Laser Printer when I came upon an article describing how, in many instances, the existing Imaging Drum was not at-fault but, rather, the "Reset Chip" was all that required replacing. The bonus? Much less expensive fix compared against the price of a brand new Imaging Drum. Upon receipt of this "Reset Chip", I installed it according to the on-line instructions available on YouTube and, voila, our Printer was up and running again......problem-free. Do your research BEFORE purchasing a brand new Imaging Drum.....it may be that all you require is a new "Reset Chip" at a fraction of the cost of a new Drum. Very pleased with this purchase.
