This is a neatly designed combined 100mm belt and 200mm disc sander. Unusually, both functions are driven directly from the motor spindle, with no belts to worry about. Both functions have a decent size worktable which pivots from 0°to 45°, the disc table incorporating a mitre fence running in a slot for bevel and compound angle sanding. The sanding platter also moves from vertical to horizontal, suiting the task in hand. The belt has close fitting guarding which helps this machine achieve a high level of dust extraction. There is a powered fan in the dust outlet port, which helps produce an airflow around both the belt and disc. When connected to a simple vacuum extractor almost total dust extraction can be achieved. The chassis is heavily constructed to support the tables and belt arm, a cast iron base absorbs vibration and has locating holes for securing this sander to a workbench if you so wish. This sander will be a welcome addition to many home workshops, enabling shaping, sanding and profiling to be carried out easily and safely. There is a wide selection of abrasive belts and discs available, the disc's are self adhesive, just warm it with a heat gun to remove for changing or if worn. Please note these machines are designed and manufactured for sanding wood and similar materials and should not be used to abrade or grind metal.

Doesn't stall the belt!
While I was reading and watching reviews searching for a new belt sander, I saw many people asking if the belt would stall out when applying pressure. Unfortunately most linishers in this price range do suffer with this problem, and it's a problem I'd been having for many years with my previous machine.I watched a few Axminster Craft AC200BDS reviews on YouTube, but couldn't find any mention of how powerful the motor was, and if it annoyingly stalled the sanding belt whilst applying pressure. As it's driven directly from the motor spindle (with no drive belts), I figured there should be more power at the sanding belt than the one I've been using, so I decided to take a chance, and wow this thing is super powerful!You can apply lots of pressure and the motor doesn't struggle in the slightest. The motor also runs at an higher rpm than what I'm used to, which is also a massive plus because it removes material much quicker and with less effort from myself. I'm actually using this for my small business so it gets used daily, and it's made things much quicker and easier for me already. So far I'm very happy with my purchase, and with the time it's saved me compared to what I would have spent using my old machine, it's already paid for itself. five stars!

Amazing service
Amazing delivery ordered 2 pm the following day it was with me by 9. I had a slight issue with the sanding disk plate 3mm out of plumb, I rang Axminster I had replacement parts the next day! Outstanding customer service. The machine is powerful and very precise. I’m one happy customers 👍

Solid build quality

I did my research on this product and I’m well happy with it and will be getting the mini one from Axminster when it’s back in stock, this sander is used for bladesmithing and for the money it sure does shift some metal.Axminster tools are well built and I would recommend it
