Works great. The one pre-slotted insert is no problem
Works great. The one pre-slotted insert is no problem. The slot is not completely through the insert and the slot goes DOWN facing inside the saw. Still zero clearance. Great products!

excellent
The Betterley zero clearance is the fourth system I've tried and by far the best. The machined base is flat and easy to level and accomodates the splitter. The inserts have 6 recessed screws to level accurately. Changing inserts is quick, accurate and easy. Downside is the local woodworking shop has stopped carrying them so I can only replace on line.

Hard to find, Betterley web site almost useless
I've used the Betterley insert for a number of years, having purchased it at my local Rockler (who no longer carries it). It works pretty well, but it has gotten very hard to find the replacement panels. I initially went to the[...] web site, and neither the insert nor the panels are shown on their site.Worse yet (I should have looked harder at the photo..SIGH), one of the four panels is pre-cut, eliminating it's usefulness for "zero clearance" cutting. This makes each insert cost about $10...plus shipping, which is really high for a chunk of plastic.Good concept, but apparently not supported by either the mas-market woodworking vendors or the manufacturer any more.Would NOT buy this again, since the replacement panels are hard to get and highly overpriced.

Very high quality
If you need zero-clearance inserts for several blades this is a great way to go. This is a high-quality product.

Make you Betterly insert more flexible
Having muliple kerfs makes the use of the Betterly insert more flexible. I wish all were blank instead of one being pre-set.

last blade insert you will ever need
While this is an expensive product you understand why when you pick it up and feel the weight of the anodized aluminum. The body will outlast the user and with easily replaceable inserts, you can have a zero clearance insert for every blade you own. I also believe it is American Made.
