Lessens some symptoms, feel more secure outside
Now, am I convinced that this product 100% works to prevent you from fall ill ever again? No. It isn’t a panacea that will never let you fall ill again, I know because I fell ill while going to the office (without a mask for the first time) with it (and an AirTamer) on my person. However, I do feel the difference. Usually, any kind of upper respiratory illness renders me feeling so sickly that I can barely get out of bed or function. But, throughout the weekend since I fell ill, I have been, otherwise, performing normally. With the AirTamer, alone, I had already felt somewhat of a change, especially with my mood as well as some of my allergies. But adding this to the mix both gives me an extra bit of security mainly because the AirTamer exclusively produces negative ions while the ionMi creates plasma ions (equal parts negative and positive ions) that apparently work to help sanitize the air by destroying the DNA structure of pollutants and viruses (negative ions, alone, weigh down pollutants for later cleaning). Due to the nature of plasma ions, I feel as if the ionMi “freshens the air” without the actual ozone smell that you’d expect from an ionizer, which is actually a good thing as this means that the ozone emissions of this product aren’t harmful. The last question on ozone emissions garnered a self-reported rating of 0.035 ppm (35 ppb) from IonPacific, however, this may actually be higher than the actual amount as the IonBox only produces 0.002 ppm (2 ppb) of ozone and IonPacific unintentionally stated it to be 0.02 ppm in a previous answer. I have asked a question that will hopefully get an answer for the real ppm rating for ozone emissions. In any case, I feel safe with the ionMi and AirTamer combination that I am currently using. My only symptoms are those of a cold or the early February allergies I seem to get every year that I have no reason to think were caused by either ionizer. All in all, I’m giving it 5 stars, I may change it depending on how it works going forward but I believe that this product is worth it.

Fine but not great
After reading the reviews, I have expected this device to have a strong output of ions to protect myself from the Wuhan Coronavirus. I am somewhat disappointed that its output is no where near the strength of a Wein (Air Supply) wearable ionizer. However to be fair, many ionizers on the market are even weaker. So its performance is fine, but just fall short of my expectation. Judging from the wrist strap that come with this device, I have expected it to be a bulky device. It turns out this is a compact device, bigger than the wearable ionizers but not by too much. It could be powered by its built-in battery, or directly from a USB port. The design of its USB connector is nice: swing out for direct connection to a USB-A port without the need for a connection cable, swing in for out-of-way storage. The design of its power button is somewhat annoying. It is a small black dot resided within one of its many hexagonal shape holes. The rationale behind the stealth design is hard to comprehend. The operation of the power button is also somewhat mysterious at first. It turns out that the power is always on when connected to a USB power source. It is only when disconnected that the power button comes into play: press once for power on, press the second time for power-saving mode, press the third time for extreme-power-saving mode, press the fourth time for power off, then the cycle repeat again. The other annoying things about this device are the words "NO/OFF" printed on a face near the power button: (1) Not being on the same face as the power button is not ideal, (2) The words would be upside down when the device is placed in the correct orientation, (3) There is no mentioning of the various power modes, (4) It is hard to believed that these simple words could be misspelled. As expected, this device is made in China where the instruction manuals are always crap.

A dud?
It seemed to work when first plugged in. The bedroom air was different (better) over night. When removed from the socket in the morning, it didn't have any light or indication it was working at all. Obviously, it would have been charged. Pushing the tiny "on" button caused the blue light to just flash a few times, then nothing. Pushing again, same thing. Pushing again, same thing. No solid light at all. No info provided explains how to tell if it was working after it is charged. So, I posted a question about this and was told the blue light should stay on once the unit is charged. I plugged it back into the wall, and still no light, regardless of trying each position of the little button. It should NOT be this difficult to know if a product is working properly or not. I have to assume mine was faulty. I returned it for a refund.

Loving the new ionMi unit (From a longtime user of the ionbox 20m)
I've been a ionbox 20m user for a few years now and when I saw that this new portable unit came out I had to give it a try. So far, I am loving it! I have been using the ionMi on my commutes to work. Because of the ionMi, my car is fresher and I feel better. I discovered about negative ions a few years ago and have been an advocate for their benefits... been telling all my friends and family about them ever since! I like the ionMi because of its small size. I can wear it around my neck and feel the negative ions near my face. When I don't want to wear it on my neck I simply just place it in my pocket. The battery life of the unit can last up to 14 days depending on what power setting you use. It only takes a couple hours to power to full, so I really don't need to worry about it running out of power. In conclusion, if you are a fan of the ionbox 20m, definitely check out the ionMi! You will not be dissapointed.
