Gtech HT30 Cordless Hedge Trimmer

Bought this when I got fed up with coping with the cable on my previous hedge trimmer. It works a treat and seems to last ages on a single charge of the battery. The long reach plus the ability to pivot the blade made trimming the shrubs and hedges a real doddle. You do need to bear in mind that it is not lightweight - as a 5ft 6in woman in her 60s I managed ok, but I needed to take frequent breaks to ease my aching shoulders!

This trimmer is literally half the weight of my old corded trimmer, it is easy to use and has a good battery life. the only issue I would have is that the trimmer head cannot be used without the pole, but as it is lightweight it isn't really that much of a problem. The fact that the cutting head angle is adjustable is very handy. I would have preferred a lever type trigger rather than the push button which is a little awkward to get used to, guess that will improve with use. Overall a really good buy.

Lightweight & easy to use. I’ve cut laurel, box-hedge, whitethorn & leylandii with relative ease.I’d like the battery life to be longer per charge & a shorter charging duration. That’s the only negative thing I can say. Very pleased with this purchase

Brilliant and good value hedge cutter. We’ve several more expensive garden hedge cutters but this is lighter and more manoeuvrable and although won’t do the really heavy duty jobs will do most in the garden. We find we use this one more often

Although it’s ok for light cutting. It did not compare to my electric hedge cutter for power and strength.

Very pleased - have 7 foot hedges both sides of garden (100feet) which grow fast. Have tried variety of cutters but this is best. Seemed a small blade at first but after using this means it is flexible and have great reach with pole. Did job much quicker than powerful electric mains cutters and flexibility means can give a more regular quick trim to remove growth. I guess if going though thick branched might need more power- but this is ideal for regular trims. Did not run out of battery on the half hour I was using them and indicated still half power left.

Intended for trimming of Eleagnus and Photinia in rear garden. Too heavy and awkward to manoeuvre, producing an untidy result. Given away to a more robust operator. Don't be persuades by young Amazons in advert !

A little heavier than thought, but good quality, suitable for normal gardens and hedges, dense and thick hedges in a non domestic garden not suitable.
