My old rig was a bit too heavy for me anymore so I ordered this. No, don't think you can sustain 500 watts or even run it maxed out for long periods, not that you need to do so. But it has a great sound and carries well in small and medium rooms. Lightweight and very manageable. My band mostly does large halls and rooms, so I run a direct out of the amp to the PA and just use the amp as a monitor. Keep the amp back line as it is hard to hear if your drummer and guitar player are playing loud. The amp projects at a distance but you'll have problems if your on a loud stage with no monitors and the amp is close to you. To be fair, that is a common problem with most bottoms.
